Sometimes, yah gotta celebrate the little things...
SHEMAR's POINT OF VIEW
"You've been silent the entire time you've been here..." I told her. I rubbed her back as she laid her head and her hand on my chest.
This is what gave me peace. Her being here with me.
"I'm just...tired." She said. I looked down at her and I saw that her eyes were closed. She softly rubbed my chest and took a deep breath.
I knew that she was more than just tired right now. Every time something was bothering her, she would make up the "I'm tired" excuse. I knew her like the back of my hand and she couldn't hide anything from me even if she tried to.
"I know that you're probably feeling sad about what happened yesterday. I understand that, baby girl. I just want you to know that, if you want to talk about it- I'm here. You can always talk to me." I told her as I started to play with her hair.
"I know, baby. As of right now, I don't want to talk about it. It's been a long day."
"Okay. We don't have to talk about it."
"Can I stay here tonight, please?" She asked me in a low voice.
"You already know that the answer is yes, baby. You don't even have to ask." I told her as I kissed the top of her head. "Is there a reason why?" I asked suddenly.
"Tony and I got in an argument today before he took Ciyle to school. I just don't feel like going back home and dealing with him again."
"What did you two argue about?" I asked her as my eyebrow furrowed a bit.
"Cai. I wanted her to come home but he says that she needs to stay there. Now, they're keeping her at the hospital for an entire week. I just want my baby back at home. He feels as if this will help her- which it will but I can watch her myself. I don't know, it's just hard having my child under someone else's care when I'm her Mother. I just didn't know...She was over Tony's Mom's house while she did this, I guess. She should have never left the house in the first place."
"It's best if she stays there, Cheryl. Just let her heal and get stronger." I told her.
"You're right. Tony just...doesn't know how to say things in a way that wouldn't make-...never mind. I'm tired of talking about it." She said as she was silent.
I knew that Cheryl wanted Caiya home but Caiya needs to stay there so that she can get better. For once, I actually agree with Tony about something, surprisingly.
