CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW
"Cheryl, please tell me that this shit is fake!" Shemar slightly yelled at me.
I wiped my face and shook my head at him.
"....you're fuckin' kidding me right now. You two have GOT to be getting me back for that joke that I pulled yesterday. Stop bullshittin'." He said as his voice started to crack.
"Shemar...I'm telling the truth. It's right there on the paper. The baby is Tony's and I know that for a fact because it says that you're not the Father so- it has to be his." I explained to him.
Shemar looked over at Tony and then down at my stomach.
"So, the day..." he said as he closed his eyes and continued talking. "the-...the day you came over my house. You hugged me so...tightly. Then, you literally looked me in my eyes and TOLD me that this baby is mines. Why would you do that?" Shemar said as he harshly crumbled up the paper.
"Shemar, I-...I didn't know how to tell you! I didn't want to hurt you and I knew that I had to tell you in the right way. I didn't want you to find out this way!" I said as I walked over to grab his hand to hold. He yanked his hand away from me and moved back.
"I WAS GONNA FUCKIN' FIND OUT ANYWAYS! WHAT DO YOU MEAN? You've been lying to me, Cheryl! LYING STRAIGHT TO MY FACE! What did I say? Huh?" He said as he yelled at me.
I was silent and the tears couldn't stop flowing down.
"Best friends don't lie to each other." Tony then said in a low voice.
I then turned to look at Tony and then back at Shemar.
"Even he knows..." Shemar said in a calm voice. "Instead, you lied to me this entire time. All this time, you made me think that we were lying to him but-...I was the fool this time. You made me-..." He said but he stopped crying and rushed to shake his head.
"Shemar, I'm sorry. I didn't wa-..." I said but he cut me off.
"You didn't what? You don't give a damn about my feelings. If you did, you would have told me that day. You just straight up lied to me. Maybe you were right last time...maybe we just were never meant to be together. I don't even know how I can forgive you for this, Cheryl....
I really don't." Shemar said as he looked me into my eyes, looked back at Tony and he then started to shake his head. His eyes were very glossy."You can have her, man. You win. As always." Shemar said to Tony as he then walked away and left out of the kitchen to show his own way out.
I stood there still looking in the direction Shemar used to be in. I knew that I would lose one person out of all of this confusion. I knew it was coming.
I wiped my face and turned to look at Tony.
He stood there, leaning against the counter and looked at me.
"I can't believe you. I was blind this entire time. I even believed you....over my own daughter. My own daughter. She told me....and I didn't believe her. I feel dumb as hell." Tony said to himself as he looked down.
"I know." I said as I looked away from him.
"You know what the worst part is? You made me...believe you when you KNEW that she was right the entire...time. Wow." He said as he looked at me with a disgusted facial expression.
"I-...I don't even know who you are anymore." He said as he shook his head and walked out of the kitchen.
