My bad, my bad....I'm back in my writing zone now 🤟🏾 By next week, hopefully, I should be done with this book and starting 'The Last Fall'. Ooouuuu, I'm so ready for this third book! 😏😈
BTW- Happy Black Velvet Monday ☺️
It's almost over but🤷🏾♀️CAI's POV
At dinner, I didn't really speak as much.
School has been draining for me and all I wanted to do was go to sleep. On top of school, there's bullying and on top of that, there's the stress of the lead role in the school play.I looked around the table at how interactive Ciyle, Ma and my Dad were.
If only they knew what was going on with me at school...
However, I can handle it."Cai..." Ma said suddenly.
I looked up from my plate and looked at her. "Yes, ma'am?" I said in a low voice.
"Your Dad just asked you a question." She then said as she looked over at him.
I must've zoned out.
"Yes?" I said as I looked at him.
"I said, is everything going okay? How are your grades? Tell me about the play. Are your arms doing any better?" He asked all at once.
"I'm fine. My grades are still good. The play is going just fine and my arms are okay." I said to him.
"Well....that's good. You look like something is on your mind." He then said to me.
"No-...nothing is. Long day is all." I said as I slightly smiled at him.
"I understand. Your brothers basketball season is about to start pretty soon. I think that the first game is when?" He asked Ciyle.
"Next Wednesday." Ciyle said as he spoke up.
"Oh." I said as I acted as if I were interested.
"Yes, he's very excited. He might've forgot to tell you himself this but-...." Dad said but Ciyle cut him off before he could finish the sentence.
"No! Don't tell her. She won't care..." Ciyle said as he shook his head and started to get embarrassed. I could see it all over his face.
"I'm telling her. She needs to know. Anyways, Ciyle told me one day while I was taking him to school that he's proud of you. He knows what you've been going through and he also said that you deserve the lead part. He also said that he cried once he found out about why you were in the hospital." Dad told me.
I looked at Ciyle but he looked away once I met his eyes.
"Thanks, Ciyle. Also, I apologize about scaring you guys." I said as I looked around the table.
"No need to apologize. We're just happy that you're better and happier now." Ma said as she smiled at me. "You are happy, aren't you?" She asked to make sure. She then raised her eyebrow at me.
"Yes..." I said as I looked down at my plate. That lie burned my mouth.
Everybody at school hated me and they don't even know me. "I'm happy." I added to convince them even more.
