CHERYL's POINT OF VIEW

I couldn't stay down forever. Sometimes you've gotta brush off the excuses and woman up. I had to face my reality and accept it- the bad and the good.

My right choices and my wrong choices.

This is my life and this is what I've done. Too late to apologize.

So, I went to work.

THE NEXT DAY:

Alicia_cobb12_  here comes your favorite odd person 🤣

While at work, Mr. Lewis just couldn't stop talking to me. The last thing that I needed was another male friend and I don't know why he wanted to be my friend so badly. What boss wants to be friends? He's the first.

"Cheryl." Mr. Lewis said as he saw me walk by his office. I went backwards and looked at him.

"Come in, please." He then said he smiled.

I'm going the back way next time; I can't deal.

"Yes, sir? Did I do something wrong?" I asked as I took a seat.

"No. You never do anything wrong. However, I do want to offer you something. Lunch perhaps?" He asked me.

I gave him a confused look. Does this man not get it?

"No thanks." I said as I looked away from him.

"Come on. I'm pretty sure that your husband wouldn't mind you...going to lunch with me, your boss. You act like I'm gonna hurt you or something. I just like the type of person that you are- you make my job interesting. You're a very unique addition to this business. It's just lunch, ma'am. No harm will be done. You're married....I'm married, all we are doing is eating and talking." He said as he raised his eyebrow at me.

"Which gives us even more of a reason as to why we should not go to lunch together. Sounds a little bit like a date, am I wrong?" I asked him.

"Nope. It's not a date until you put that title on it. However, two married people aren't liable to go on dates with another married person....if you get my flow. Why don't you want to be my friend, Cheryl? What do I have to do? I talk to you everyday and you always give me short responses. Let me get to know you more...please?" He asked me.

"Why do you want to be my friend so badly?" I asked as I titled my head at him.

He looked at me and just shrugged his shoulders.

"Like I said...you're a unique addition to this business. I admire you and your ways. I mean, you've only been here for what? 5 months and you're helping this place more than the people whom have been here for years and years. That makes you special...especially to me." He said as he stood up.

"Happy that I'm making you proud. However, lunch isn't something that you and I should do. It's very inappropriate....like I said once before. That would be us going too far again." I told him as I then sighed.
