The past
SHEMAR's POINT of VIEW

"Ohhhh, look who it is. Peps at a party?" I said as I walked up to her. She had just walked into the front door.

"Yeah, I thought that I would come and check it out. Plus, Stacie invited me. I'm not staying for too long." She said as she looked around at many other Seniors from our school dancing, drinking and acting like fools.

"I thought that my best friend didn't come to parties." I asked her as we started to walk around Stacie's house.

"I don't but she wanted me to come and so, I came. Why are you here?" She asked me as we stopped walking.

"To get some girls, duh." I said as I shrugged my shoulders.

"You-....of course you are. You already know what I told you, Shemar. These girls don't love you for you, best friend. They only love you for your looks and that's horrible as hell. You're gonna learn one day." She told me as she turned to look at the other side of the room.

"I know. It was a joke. Anyways, guess who's here?" I asked her as I put my hands in my pocket and raised my eyebrows at her.

"Who?"

"Marcus." I said as I slightly laughed.

"You know that I'm not interested. Why do you keep bringing him up?"

"Because he likes you. He's just very...nervous to talk to you sometimes." I explained to her.

"Well, I don't want somebody who's afraid to talk to me. I want somebody who can be verbal and not afraid to simply talk. Every time he looks in my direction, he starts shaking. Plus, he's not my type." She told me as she slightly sighed.

"Well, too late. He's walking over here." I said as I watched him walk up towards us.

"Sup, Shemar." He said as him and I brought it in.

"Hey." I said.

Marcus then looked over at Cheryl who wasn't even paying us any attention.

I tilted my head a few times towards Cheryl to signal to Marcus to make his move.

Marcus was a good guy. If he wasn't, I wouldn't even want him near her.

"Hey Cheryl." Marcus finally said.

Cheryl looked at him. "Hey." She said as she then looked away once again.

"So, uhm- you enjoying the party?" He asked her.

"I'm gonna go stand over here if you need me, Peps." I told her before he could answer his questions. She squinted her eyes at me. I tried not to smile and then walked away.

Cheryl's Point Of View

Shemar was an ass. He knew that I didn't like this boy.

"Yeah, I'm enjoying myself." I said as I lightly smiled.

"That's good. Want something to drink?" He asked me.
