Late

She sat waiting on the sofa of her shared house with Shawn, waiting for him to come home and he should've been home 15 minuets ago but she decided to wait. He had to be on time for this it was their sons first day of school and this was important for her but maybe not for him.

"Come on baby lets go" she ushers to her son to get up, picking up his backup and sliding it on to his back. She quickly takes a picture of him and sees the way his dark hair flops to front like Shawn's and that today his eyes have a slight green tint in them just like her lovers, she quickly takes the picture and one of them together.

"Mummy I'm so excited" he jumps up and down and she laughs a little, "Yeah well you're going to have so many friends and you can play all day long as long as you be a good boy" she says and he smiles widely "mummy I just have to get something I forgot" he quickly rushes to the bed room and she hears his small feet tap on the floor as he runs back.

He holds a small bracelet and puts it in her lap and she smiles down at it, it's the bracelet Shawn got him from Australia and he never forgets it "where's daddy?" The small boy asks and her face drops not knowing what to say. "Oh don't worry he will be here and anyway I'm here right" she says in attempt to cheer him up and he just nods.

They both get in the car and she quickly tries to call Shawn but it goes straight to voicemail and it makes her more frustrated, she drops him a text reading;
'You're late and he's asking for you!!!'

They make it to the school and she decides to stay in the car for a minuet hoping Shawn will show up but it's been too long.

"Come on baby, time to go" she says trying to be excited for him but he has a sad look on his face but nods and she helps him get out of the car and they walk up to the school where the teacher is ready to meet them.

"Hi, I'm Miss Mills and you must be Cruz and Mrs Mendes" she says happily.

"Hi yes he's so excited aren't you?" She says and looks down at Cruz but his eyes wonder somewhere else and he suddenly lets go of her hand and runs down the steps, she turns around to see Cruz running towards Shawn.

Shawn picks him up and brings him back up the stairs towards his angry wife and the teacher. "His nice to meet you, are you Cruz's dad" Miss mills asks politely
"Yes I'm Shawn, nice to meet you" he puts him down and looks at y/n but she looks away, Shawn puts one arm around her waist and she still doesn't move.

"It was nice meeting you guys and remember pick up is at 3 and I'll take Cruz inside now" she says and holds open the door.

"Yes thank you so much, bye baby be good Okay" y/n kneels down to give him a hug and he hugs back then hugs Shawn "bye mummy bye daddy" Cruz waves as he goes inside.

Y/n forgets about Shawn and makes her way to her car but is stopped by Shawn's voice "darling wait what's the matter"Shawn says.

Y/n turns to face him and his hands are on her waist and her arms are folded across her chest. "What's the matter? Are you seriously asking?" She spits and Shawn doesn't know what he did wrong "just tell me I'll make it right baby" he pleads.

"I'll see you at home Shawn" she turns but Shawn quickly grabs her arm turning her around and she groans.

"I'm actually going to a meeting but I'll pick up Cruz Okay" he says calmly and she turns back to go to her car "don't be late" she yells and goes home.

"Hi yeah I'm on my way I'm so sorry" y/n speaks through the phone as she makes her way to the car quickly, as the teacher reminds her that pick up time was 10 minutes ago.

She gets to the school and sees her baby sat on the steps with his teacher, Cruz spots his mum and runs up to her wrapping his small arms around her legs "Hey baby I'm so sorry for being late"
