Linked Pinkies

"Oh my god baby come here!" Shawn yells. "Babe hurry up" he yells again.

Y/n runs in with a towel wrapped around her body "oh my god what happened?" She asks in panic.

Shawn laughs looking at her "look our baby is crawling" he says placing Theo on the floor watching him as he crawls.

"Shawn please don't do that. I thought something bad happened" she sighs in relief going to her wardrobe grabbing some clothes. "Wait why aren't you happy? Theo is crawling!" He exclaims sitting down on the floor shaking a rattle in front of Theo.

"He's been crawling for two weeks" she says wrapping her robe around around her covering her body. "For two weeks?!" Shawn asks shocked.

"Yes Shawn, two weeks" she says in annoyance. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asks clearly hurt. "I sent you so many videos whilst you were away in those two weeks" she says sitting at the edge of the bed watching Theo play.

Shawn looks up at her sadly "no you didn't" he says pulling out his phone. "Yes I did, you didn't reply" she says pulling Theo up from the floor putting him on the bed so she could change his clothes.

"Oh, why didn't I see this?" Shawn looks through the texts she had sent. "I don't know you tell me" she says taking of Theo's pants and top whilst he giggles rolling around.

"Well I'm sorry" he says sitting up beside her passing her Theo's onesie. "Whatever" she mumbles putting the onesie on Theo.

"It's not my fault I miss stuff like this" Shawn says watching her as she does the buttons. "Yeah well it's not my fault either, I sent you those pictures and videos" y/n says picking up Theo putting him in her lap as he plays with her necklace.

"Babe I have a job-"

She quickly cuts him off "that's not an excuse, it's was your choice to go. Andrew said you could've stay at home" she huffs playing with Theo's small curls.

"Don't blame me" he says harshly. "At least I pay for shit"

She looks up at him furrowing her eyebrows "are your seriously saying this? I pay the rent, I pay for food and anything else I buy. You sometimes don't let me pay, you always say 'it's nothing' because of your ridiculously big pay" she says in a matter of fact tone then looks back down at Theo.

"Ridiculously big pay? I work hard y/n. It's not my fault I can't be here all the time"

Y/n breathes in deeply closing her eyes then opens them again. "Then why the fuck are you here?! You complain when you miss anything Theo does but then blame me for not telling you when you're the one who doesn't put any effort in!" She gets up holding Theo close to her chest and she walks out going to the kitchen.

Shawn follows her seeing her put Theo in his high chair and she puts his baby food in a plate. "I do put effort in. I always send you stuff when I'm away" he says walking behind her.

"Shawn I don't care about the stuff you send. It's not the same as you being here and I completely understand that you have to go away sometimes I really do but you had a choice. Andrew clearly said when Theo is born it's up to you when you leave" she sits down next to Theo and Shawn sits beside her.

"And you chose to go" she says wiping a tear from her eye, sniffling as she pulls the spoon up to go Theo's lips.

"No no baby, don't cry" he whispers bringing a hand to her shoulder. "I hate when I miss anything. You know I miss you and Theo whenever I go away" she looks up at him sadly.

"Then why do you ignore me when you leave? You always argue with me when you come back, always calling me unsupportive" she says sadly.

He sighs pushing some hair behind her ear "I don't know why I do that. Maybe it's because it'll make me want to come home"

"Then why do you go?" She cries dropping the spoon on the table.

"I'm afraid"

"Afraid of what?"

"That one day I won't be able to provide for you, look after you, give you what you want. It scares me to death thinking that might happen. So I leave and as selfish as it sounds I leave to make money" he admits his voice going quiet.

She looks up at him with watery eyes "you don't need to do that Shawn" she says clutching on to his hand. Theo giggles making her look at him grabbing the spoon feeding him carefully then she looks back at Shawn.

"I love you Shawn, you don't need to do anything for me. Just stay with me, with me and Theo. You've already won me over. Just stay, don't miss anything, enjoy everything with us" she sends him a soft smile.

He nods closing his eyes "I'm sorry" he croaks. "It's okay".

"I love you more y/n" he says pecking her lips. "I'm going to be here for everything, I won't argue with you I promise" he links his pinky with hers making her laugh.

"We are going to argue that's just apart of a relationship but we're okay right?" She asks. Shawn nods smiling. Theo pats the table making a noise making them both look at him.

Theo holds out his small pinky making them both laugh. Shawn links his pinky with his "I love you baby" Theo giggles looking up at Shawn.
