It was windy, her hair flying all around her face. The moonlight shining down on the quiet streets, the waves quietly lapping against the shore, a soothing and pleasing noise.
She stood looking over the dark ocean, the endless ocean which was only lit up by the few mellow lit up lights along the pier.
"Hi" shawn breathes out stepping beside her looking over at the same view that caught her eyes. "Hi" she doesn't look his way but knows he's still as handsome as last time.
"It's so beautiful"
"It is" he sighs looking at her side profile. "The moonlight reflecting on the ocean, it's so pretty" she tucks her hair begins her ears. "Mother Nature is incredible" she says to herself realising how aesthetically pleasing the sea looks.
"I wonder if Mother Nature knows" Shawn says and she still doesn't look at him. "Knows what?"
"What she's created"
"Of course she does" she says like it's obvious.
They both simultaneously let a out a breath, allowing cold air to escape their lips creating smoke. "I talk to the moon you know"
Shawn nods looking straight. He knew she had been drinking, whenever she drank she became more, more appreciative of everything.
"I'm sure the moons a girl, I talk to her about you. I sit at my window and I tell her my problems" She turns to look at Shawn and her breath hitches as her eyes scan his perfectly sculptured face.
"Tell me. Tell me what you tell the moon" Shawn faces her using his large hand to cradle her face. She holds his wrist gently then presses her face against his palm, feeling safe at his touch.
"I tell the moon about our break up, how you moved on, how we don't talk. I ask her why you don't love me, why you're so far, why can't I kiss you anymore. I remind her that you left me, I remind her that we weren't meant to be, I remind her that you were never mine." Her voice cracks with emotion but she keeps her sullen eyes on his honey eyes.
"What do you tell the moon?"
Shawn blinks away his tears then clears his throat composing himself before he speaks.
"I tell the moon that I'm stupid, a fool for letting you go. I tell her to keep you happy and that I regret ever hurting you. I tell her that if I had the chance to have you in my arms again I'd do anything. I tell the moon I still love you" Shawn inches closer to her moving her hair out her face as the wind brushes past them.
"The moon never told me" she whispers, her senses kicking in.
"Well I'll tell you that I'm a fool, I'm telling you I want, I need you in my arms and that I love you" his eyes scan her face and a tear falls from her eyes.
"You do?" She asks looking up at him, his milky skin glowing as the light hit him and his eyes glittered and features warm.
"I love you and I'll tell the moon everyday" the words leave his lips smoothly, like they were only his.
"I'll tell the moon too" she turns and grabs Shawn's hands bringing them around her waist so he hugs her from behind resting his chin on her head. "I love you" She whispers leaning her head back on his shoulder as she closes her eyes.
Shawn hesitantly moves his face closer to her, gently brushing his lips against her. "Kiss me"
He presses his lips against her soft ones still holding her from behind. She brings a hand up to his curly locks pulling him closer and she keeps her head up pushing against his lips.
Shawn pulls back resting his cheeks against hers instantly warming up. She turns around then leans her head on his chest breathing in deeply. "Take me home please" she mumbles intertwining their hands. Shawn nods then plants a kiss at the top of her head.
"Come on" he tugs her hand as they begin walking. She wraps an arm around his bicep and puts her head against his shoulder as they take their time looking over the sea.
