I'll Come Home

Their baby cried yearning y/n so late in the night, she groaned getting up reaching the baby's room, "oh my love, why are you crying?" Y/n coos reaching in the crib to pick up baby Jonah.

"Come on, please stop crying" she whispers rocking him back and forth. "You want some food huh bubba".

After a long attempt of feeding him, Jonah spat it all out and cried even more. Y/n walked around the room holding multiple toys trying to entertain her baby. She sat down on the floor with Jonah in her arms. "Baby J please stop crying".

A few tears fall down her face due to the crying, she doesn't know what's wrong with her baby and how to stop it. "Please baby boy" her voice was so gentle but the cries got louder.

"You miss daddy?" She asks, she knows she won't get a reply but still carries on talking to him like any mother would do. "I miss him too, daddy's coming back soon. Should I call him, maybe he'll sing to you" a soft smile plants on her face as she still cries looking down at Jonah.

"One minute okay, I'm going to call daddy" she carries the crying baby to her room and gets in bed wrapping herself and Jonah up. She grabs her phone and waits for someone to pick up.

"Hold on my love, he's going to answer" she says stroking the small of his cheek.

"Hello y/n is everything okay?"

Shawn hears the crying and his heart breaks "oh my baby, what's the matter?"

"He won't stop crying Shawn, I've held him for so long, I tried to feed him, play with his toys he won't stop" she sniffles.

"Babe are you crying?"

"No I'm fine, I don't know what to do"

"Should I call my mum I know she'll come over"

"But it's so late, you're on loud speaker can you speak with him"

"Yeah of course, Jonah baby, why are you crying huh? Your mama needs to sleep" Jonah's eyes go wide and he looks around for the voice, his crying now getting softer.

"Baby J should I sing to you will that make you fall asleep, what song should I sing love?"

"Angles by Khalid" it was her favourite song. (Lil side note THIS SONG IS EVERYTHING)

"Okay" Shawn sang part of the song and Jonah's eyes begins to flutter shut and only soft snore escape his mouth.

"Is he sleeping?"

"Yeah, thank you Shawn" her crying also stops now she wipes her face and sniffles.

"I'm going to put him down, I'll let you sleep now" she mumbles.

"No, I want to talk to you I'll wait"

"Okay" she puts Jonah down beside her and surrounds him with pillows, she didn't want to go back to the baby room she was too tired.

"I just put him down next to me" she whispers not wanting to wake up her baby.

"On my side?"

She laughs a little and nods her head but remembers he can't see her "yes on your side"

"Were you crying before y/n" he can hear the sadness in her voice.

"Yeah but I'm okay now, I don't know what happened to me I just saw him crying and I started crying too" she laughs a little trying to show Shawn she's okay.

"I can come home if you want, if you're not okay on your own I can come home. You know I'll drop everything to be with you"

"Yeah I know, I miss you" her eyes going glossy again and she refrains from making a sound.

"I miss you too gorgeous"

"Tell me about the show, distract me"

"Okay well, you already know all the songs I'm playing and maybe John will play with me too on stage. It's going to be a huge crowd absolutely full"

She hums in response not wanting to say anything in case she starts crying.

"I'm gonna wear that black shirt with the white feathers that you gave me"

"Yeah I love that shirt, it looks good on you" her voice cracks slightly and Shawn can tell she's not okay.

"I'll come home after the show" Shawn says making her heart beat faster and more tears escape her eyes.

"Okay" she can't say anything else knowing she will start sobbing at the sound of his voice.

"Baby girl stop crying" Shawn says gently.

"Okay"

"I'm coming home okay, wait for me I'll be back and you'll be okay, I'll stay for as long as you need" she hums in response and Shawn sighs.

"I love you baby"

"I love you too Shawn"

"I'm coming home" he says it again to reassure her.

"Yeah you're coming home, I can't wait"

"Me too love, now go back to sleep I'll see you tomorrow"

"Good night Shawn"

"Good night hun"
