The F Bomb

"Soooo Shawn tell us about the lovely lady we've been seeing you with" Ellen says with a slight smirk.

Shawn smiles bringing his hand up to his hair brushing through it, "you mean y/n?"

"Yes y/n, she's a very pretty girl don't you think?"

"Yeah she definitely is" Shawn chuckles awkwardly.

"So Shawn, I just want to let you know that there are rumours spreading" she stops looking at Shawn dramatically.

"Rumours huh? What rumours?" Shawn asks moving around on his seat. "That you guys are like a thing" Ellen finishes.

"A thing, what do you mean by a thing" Shawn asks acting like he doesn't know. "Oh you know what I mean" she exclaims furrowing her eyebrows at Shawn. 

"No I really don't, you could tell me though" Shawn says then takes a sip of some water. "You know, she's your girlfriend. Am I right?"

Shawn laughs throwing his head back then shaking his head, "no she's not my girlfriend" Shawn replies shortly.

"Oh come on, just look at these" then appear a few photos of Shawn and y/n on the screen behind them. The audience awes making Shawn turn around looking at the screen, it was a picture of Shawn hugging her from the back, then another of them at a cafe, Shawn remembers clearly how he got chocolate on his face and she licked it off.

"Oh and this one" Ellen says before a picture flashes on the screen, Shawn blushes in embarrassment remembering that night; they had gone to a party and of course got drunk, Shawn was sat down and y/n stood in between his legs, he was holding her waist tightly and his tongue licked a stripe up her exposed stomach.

"So she's not your girlfriend, you just go licking your friends' stomachs" Shawn laughs clapping his hands.

"Well Ellen she's not my friend either" Shawn says leaning back on the chair smirking.

"Okay so you just lick anyone's stomach" Ellen says and the audience laughs.

"She's my fiancé" Shawn finally says making everyone go quiet. Ellen gasps leaning forward slapping Shawn's leg. "You can just drop the F word on us Shawn" shawn chuckles.

"So Fiancé?" Ellen says and Shawn nods.

"Fiancé" Ellen repeats.

"Yes Ellen my fiancé, like I'm going to marry that girl" the audience awes making Shawn look over awkwardly.

"Oh my god, you heard it here first, Shawn Mendes is an engaged man!" Ellen smiles clapping. "Congrats Shawn!"

"Thank you so much" Shawn smiles feeling relieved that the world finally knows after 7 months.

"Well how did you do it and how long has it been?" Ellen asks.

"Erm i think it's seven months tomorrow" Ellen gasps again "seven months? You hid it for seven months!" Shawn nods sheepishly.

"Yeah we were back at her childhood home visiting her parents and every time we go there we go to these really beautiful gardens filled with all kinds of flowers and we always pick them. So we went and we took a basket, she turned around to pick some roses and she wouldn't stop talking that day just about everything. Then she turned around and I just did it" Shawn smiles telling the story

"Wow it's so simple but it sounds so nice, you almost got me crying" Ellen jokes.

"It was really funny actually, like two of our friends have recently gotten married and another engaged and one of my friends Brian had asked her to plan the wedding and she of course agreed, so sometimes she would drag me along to look at flowers or even decorations. Oh god I got so scared Ellen, we were looking at different themes on her phone and she goes 'this would be perfect for our wedding huh' I swear I stopped breathing, it was the first time she ever said something like that then after that she kept saying stuff about marriage and I would just listen."

"Then when we were getting ready to go she goes 'Brian seems so happy to be getting married' and I knew that's what she wanted. She kept saying stuff about marriage and I wanted it too so I just asked her" Shawn shrugs 

"she's a lucky girl then huh" Shawn nods at Ellen. "She even just asked me one time, we were just chilling watching something and she goes 'when's it my turn' I had no idea what she was talking about so I asked her what she meant and she huffed so loud and goes 'I want to marry you Shawn'" Ellen laughs again.

"I told her she would have to wait but I wanted to marry her too then I proposed the next month"

"Then you hid it for seven months, then dropped the f bomb on us" Shawn laughs at Ellen's words. "Are you going to be releasing pictures?" Ellen asks and Shawn nods his head "Yeah, I had photos taken at the garden I'll release some tonight now that I've announced it" Shawn says making the audience cheer.

"Oh did she know you were going to announce it today?" Ellen asks and Shawn shakes his head.

"She told me that she doesn't care if people know or not as cause she knows at the end of the day we're going to get married. I mean she did say she wanted to release it in a cute way like doing a photo shoot or something but then she stopped caring about if people knew"

"I'm surprised no one caught on, has she been wearing the ring?" Ellen asks and Shawn chuckles lightly.

"She hasn't taken it off since I gave it to her but she's wearing it on her other finger" Shawn answers.

"But she didn't care if people found out though" Ellen says skeptically. "She wanted it to be our thing for a while and enjoy it as no one knew so no one could give there opinion but for the last two months she's been wearing it on her ring finger"

Ellen nods understandably "well congratulations again Shawn and Y/N, that's all for today thank you for coming on today" she says to Shawn.

"Thanks for having me" Shawn smiles getting up to hug Ellen then the cameras cut.

"Shawn don't drop the f bomb on us like that again" Ellen teases making him laugh.

"Oh I won't she's the only girl I'm marrying" Shawn smiles.
