"Fuck you! Don't come to me crying when she breaks your heart!" She yells sticking her middle finger up walking backwards. She turns around sticking her hands in pockets trying to get warm, walking away from what she thought was her love, her soulmate.

She resists the urge to turn around but her mind couldn't help wonder if he stayed there, was he watching her walking away.

Her feet carry her to the nearest bench, her body hits the cold metal as she leans her head back closing her eyes. She puts her head in the the palms of her hands weeping in the silence of the night.

A group of boys approach, laughing and being loud. She stops her crying wiping her face as she looks seeing the group slowly approaching. They walk past and give her weird looks but one holds eye contact giving her sorry eyes.

"Come on Shawn!" The ginger boy pats him on the back. "One minute" he mumbles going around his friends to the girl.

Her eyes follow his boots seeing him get closer, her body tenses as he stops looking down at her. Shawn bends down meeting her gaze. "You okay?"

She scoffs wiping her face. "Sorry that was a stupid question" he laughs trying to lighten the mood. "Yeah it was" she nods moving her hands in her pockets.

"Can I sit with you?" He asks giving her a one sided smile. "There's a bench over there" she points over to the other side of the street.

"There is but you're clearly upset and you shouldn't be alone" he gets up sighing beside her keeping a fair distance between them.
"Are you going to hurt me?"

Shawn shakes his head no meeting eyes with the broken girl. "What happened?" He asks seeing her wipe her tears.

"My boyfriend cheated on me with his ex who constantly hurt him. I was there for him, I fixed him and helped him. I took him away from the dark place only for him to go back" her voice was hurt, she was emotionally tired and her heart wanted to give up on love.

"Well he's clearly a dick" Shawn scoffs making her leg out a laugh. "You were willing to help him and he cheated, as cheesy as it sounds you deserve better" he shrugs his shoulders.

"Or maybe I don't. My heart has give up on love and so has my mind" she sniffles wiping her nose with the sleeve of her jacket.

"You can't just give up because of one person, you'll find someone" he smiles then places his hand over her cold ones.

"You're too pretty to be hurt" Shawn says sadly. "No one should be hurt, cheating is the worst. It just made me realise that there's always someone better than me" her eyes travel down to his hand and she takes a deep breath.

"Do you have a girlfriend?" She asks without realising how straight forward she was being. He shakes his head no "not found the right one"

"Me too" She squeezes his hand as she sees his smile drop. "Look at us, two lonely strangers" she lets out a laugh.

"I'm telling you my sob story, on a bench, at nine pm and you're a stranger" she laughs again and Shawn looks up smiling.

"Well I'm listening to this pretty girl and all I can think about is how much more she deserves, how I could do better"

She looks over his face admiring his chiselled features for a minute. "can you give me a chance?" Shawn asks running a hand through his hair.

"A chance huh? I don't know you though"

"Get to know me then and I'll do the same. I don't want to let you go" he says nervously.

"I'm y/n"

"I'm Shawn"
