Interview

"It's so lovely to have you here y/n" James says and hugs her.

"It's nice to be here" she says and takes a seat.

"So how are you feeling I mean you've definitely been in the public eye more, am I right?" James says

"It's been good, I mean of course there will be the hate but you win some and loose some" she says and takes a sip of the water and puts it down.

"Yeah completely, since you're engagement with mister Shawn Mendes things must be hectic" he says and the audience woos

Shawn's watching backstage and he feels anxious not knowing what she's about to say.

"Well James, I'm not engaged" she says and laughs a little.

"Come on, you've moved in together and we all saw the ring, you're wearing it now, wow it's just beautiful, that's a big rock" James says and takes her hand and the camera zooms in. She laughs nervously and backstage Shawn is downing his water feeling nervous for her.

"James honestly it's just a ring, yes he did buy it for me but for my birthday and I wear it on this finger cause it just fits" she says and James looks at her suspiciously. "Okay then whatever you say" he says and she laughs again.

"So have you heard the album yet" James asks and she nods "of course I have it's been out for a while now and if you haven't heard it you're crazy" she exclaims and Shawn laughs at the screen displaying his girlfriend.

"What's you're favourite song of it, mines lost in Japan it's just so soothing and different" James says.

"Well I love all of them but Queen is definitely a fave it's just so sassy and of course Particular Taste now that is a song" she says and James agrees with her and Shawn's heart swells up knowing that his girl is proud of him.

"He's doing so well for himself right I mean he's just not stopping, so young and he's done so much" James says and she smiles tightly "yeah I'm so proud of him, he's honestly worked so hard for it" she says.

"What did you think on Shawn's appearance at the MET?" James asks and shuffles uncomfortably.

"I'm assuming you're talking about Hailey and Shawn and to be honest they both looked amazing she's so gorgeous" she says trying to keep it short and Shawn backstage tightens up knowing she doesn't like talking about this.

"Where were you during the gala? It was amazing this year" James says.

She inhales deeply and looks around trying to figure out what to say "Well I was just extremely busy I was upset that I couldn't go, it looked so good but there's always next year right" she says quickly.

"Well Shawn definitely had a good time did you see the pictures it was great" James says and y/n tightens up and fiddles with the hem of her dress. She spots Shawn on the side and he gives her a sorry look.

"Yeah I saw the pictures he looks so handsome" she says keeping it short.

"Well Shawn might take you next year we're all hoping for some pictures of you guys" James says and she slightly chuckles.

She heats up feeling like there's no point in her being here, all she gets asked about is Shawn and of course she loves him but no one cares about her.

"Well James I just think that you should've called Shawn or Hailey here I mean that's all we're talking about right, I thought I was here to promote my next fashion line which is by the way available now" she says and James laughs it off but Shawn knows she's upset.

"Well that's it for tonight, this has been great thank you and good night everybody" James says and they wave to the camera.

Y/n walks backstage getting ready to go and Shawn comes up to her "Hey baby" Shawn says and she just smiles at him and walks of to the car where Shawn sits beside her.

He puts his hand on her thighs and she budges to the side moving her legs and Shawn sighs.

They finally get home and she walks quickly in front of Shawn walking inside but he grabs her hand and pulls her back making her twirl and hit his chest "what?!" She asks and Shawn squeezes her waist making her move closer.

"What's the matter darling?" He asks and she huffs "nothing" she says and tries to get away but her holds he still. "Just tell me, I'm listening" he says and pecks her cheek.

"I hate doing interviews, all I get asked about is you and what you're doing. No one cares what I've done" she admits and a frown falls on Shawn's face.

"I'm sorry you feel like that my love, I care about you is that not enough" he says and she looks up to eyes. "Of course it's enough it's just that everyone asks me about you and what you've done I mean why do they ask to interview me when all they want to do is ask about you" she says and Shawn understands what she means.

"I understand why that would frustrate you, I saw it today I know you felt uncomfortable and I wish I could stop it. Next time I'll help you make it clear the interviewer that's the interview is about you not me, yeah baby" he says and she smiles widely at him and he smiles too.

"You're too good to me Shawn, I probably sound like a brat" she says and he chuckles "well you deserve the best and you don't I completely get you" he says and places his hand on her jaw and leans in to kiss her.

She pulls back and rests her head on his chest he grabs her hand and pulls her to the sofa "what are we doing Shawn it's so late now" she says as they fall in to the sofa. " I want to watch you're interview I thought it was kinda funny when you snapped at him" Shawn admits and she hits his chest "I feel bad for James I better apologise" she says and snuggles in to his arms.

"You know I got a bit scared when he said about the ring" Shawn says and she hums in response. "But I liked it you know, people thinking we're engaged" Shawn's continues and she giggles "hopefully we are one day" She says and looks up kissing his cheek and he kisses the top of her head gently.

"Yeah one day" Shawn whispers and links their hands together.
