Chapter 31 - Spectre humors the rainbow

Once they had gotten back to base, Ash had suggested to put handcuffs on Spectre, but Y/N went against the idea, mainly because he saw some untapped potential that could be useful to team rainbow, and also partially because they could just break the cuffs anyway. Ash and Dokkaebi escorted Spectre to an interrogation room. It was just a square room with a table and a few chairs, as well as a one way mirror on one of the walls. Ash ordered Spectre to sit, and they reluctantly play along and sit. It wasnt long before she left the room and left Spectre alone in the room. Shortly after, Spectre started to get impatient. They could bust out of the room if they'd had wanted to, however, they figure that they may as well just humor Team Rainbow for now, but with more waiting, their patience got smaller and smaller, finally, the door opens and Six, as well as Ash, step into the room. Six sits across from them, while Ash stands next to her, her Five-Seven holstered.

Six: "Good evening. My team says you go by Spectre. Do you have a real name?"

Spectre: "Yes."

Six: "... ... are you going to say your name?"

Spectre: "No."

Ash: "Just say your name for fuck sake."

Spectre: "It's nothing you need to know."

Six: "Very well. Mind telling us where you came from?"

Spectre: "Im pretty sure you could put the pieces together yourself."

Ash: "Enough with the smartass answers."

Six: "So, intel from the report says that you attacked and killed not only the White Masks, but you also attempted to take the life of Mr. Y/N, or rather you know him as Anubis. Care to tell me what your motives are?"

Spectre: "Im a mercenary. I get paid to liquidate someone, i get the job done however i see fit."

Six: "So you do the things you do merely for profit?"

Spectre: "Not only that, but i enjoy the thrill of killing. There's no greater form of satisfaction than to see your target stare helplessly as they know they're about to die."

Ash: "That's... disturbing..."

Six: "Indeed it is, however, i see these abilities being used for the right cause."

Ash: "Hold on, Ma'am, you're not actually about to recruit this person to Team Rainbow, are you? You can't be serious."

Six: "I am, and i will."

Spectre: "Save your breath. Unless you make it worth my while, i have no interest in working with anyone. I enjoy being a free agent.

Six: "How much would be sufficient enough for you?"

Spectre: "Your currency is worthless to me. You have nothing to offer."

Ash: "Hmmm, i kind of expected an answer like that."

Reaper then enters the room. He was watching the whole time and figured he could come to a compromise.

Ash: "Reaper, what are you doing in here?"

Spectre: "Reaper, my old friend. What made you decide to work for this place?"

Reaper: "Agreeing to work with Team Rainbow was my own decision. I was informed by Y/N of the dangers of the White Masks, and how they'd grow to be one of the most dangerous terrorist groups ever recorded in the world."

Spectre: "Sounds more like Anubis talk than you, but whatever. I still have no part in this."

Reaper: "But you do. I offered 6 million crypto to you. Five million to pay off Y/N's bounty, and an added million."

Spectre: "I kind of figured there'd be a catch. Let me guess, you want me to join this team?"

Reaper: "Yes. With the three of us, we can help to Team Rainbow to combat this terrorist organization."

Spectre: "Alright, ill humor you for now. Merely because you added that bonus."

Six: "Excellent. Spectre, welcome to Team Rainbow."

Six offers Spectre a handshake, but they did nothing but look at her hand and look back. They didnt seem interested in shaking Six's hand.

Spectre: "Dont expect me to buddy up with any of your soldiers. I dont plan to stay for too long. *gets up* Also, dont expect me to call you 'Ma'am'"

Six: *awkwardly retracts her hand back* "Very well. I guess now we just introduce you to the team and see where this takes off."

Ash: {"Why do i have a bad feeling about this?"}

Six announces for everyone to meet in the meeting hall once again. At this point, the whole team could guess that another new operator has joined the team. Their guesses turned out to be correct as Six and Spectre entered the meeting hall last and stood in front of all 40 operators.

Six: "Everyone, this is our latest edition to our team. Meet Spectre."

Spectre didnt really have anything to say. They stares they were recieving didnt really mean anything to them. He merely took a glance at all of the operators, not including Y/N or Reaper.

Dokkaebi: {"Six actually let that person join? Why?"}

Six: "Well, Spectre, these are your new teammates. I know you have that lone wolf personality, but try to get to know them."

Spectre: "You really expect me to work with amateurs?"

Some of the operators took that as an offense, especially Thatcher, but they remained professional enough to not show any signs of offense.

Six: "You're part of a team, so like i said, at least try to get to know them."

Spectre: "I wont make any promises."

Six: "Well, with that out of the way, meeting is adjourned."

Six leaves the room, and unlike with Y/N and Reaper, every other operator leaves the room as well, only leaving Y/N, Ela and Reaper in the room with Spectre. Dokkaebi had told Ela about Y/N's injury, and decided to stay by him at all times. He told her that he was stable, but she had her mind made up, and now holds on to Y/N's arm. Ash and Thatcher shortly came back in.

Thatcher: "Im going to choose to let that amateur comment slide."

Ash: "You owe us new weapons by the way."

Spectre: "You're alive, aren't you? That's reward enough."

Ash: "Fucking smartass."

Ela: "I know what you did to my Y/N. I dont like you."

Spectre: "You say that as if you think i care."

Ela: "Fucking smartass."

Y/N: {"This is going to be really interesting... i can just feel it..."}
