Chapter 10: Following

Justin's P.O.V.

Waiting by the library, I impatiently tapped my foot. Why did I promise to meet Selena by here? If only she knew I had work. But it was only a few minutes, right? Just would have to run a little, to make it right on the dot. Selena skipped up to me.

"Hey babe, want me to help you with your project?," she asked with a smirk. Sighing, I knew she didn't buy my lie. Why did she have to know me so well? Selena still had a smirk on her face.

"Well I have a partner, they want me to meet them in Mrs. Keller's class. So I really need to go," I said with celerity. Selena's smile turned into a frown. 'Hey it's school work don't be mad,' I thought sarcastically. Selena rolled her eyes.

"Fine, but I want my goodbye kiss," she demanded with a cute smile. Smiling back at her, we both leaned in. Our lips moved in sync and as I pulled away Selena softly bit down on my bottom lip. She giggled a little. Smiling back at her, I laid my lips on her cheek. Her cheek moved up, signaling her smile got wider. I took my lips off her cheek.

"I'll see you later babe, love you," I said. Selena nodded while saying, "Have fun with your project!" Nodding, I turned around and made a sharp turn. Hopefully Selena didn't know where Mrs. Keller's class was. If she did she would know I was going the wrong way.

Making my way down the hallway, I stared at the exit up ahead. Beginning to jog, I pulled out my phone and checked the time. I took longer than I should have, but I should have expected that. Making my way out the gate, I quickly began to walk to the diner. 'I'm sorry I lied to you Selena,' I thought.

Selena's P.O.V.

Justin turned a corner, I looked at the corner confused. Wait, wasn't Mrs. Keller's class upstairs? So why was he taking that hallway? It didn't lead to the stairs, it lead out of school. My eyes widened. Justin had lied to me? Shaking my head, I knew Justin wouldn't do that.

Suspicion grew inside of me, I had to know where he was going. Running down to the hallway, I began to follow Justin. Looking down the hallway, I saw Justin jog out the exit. Jogging? He had to be in a hurry, but for what? Jogging down the hallway, I continued to follow Justin.

Where was he going? Why had he lied to me? What was so important? Questions kept running through my head. Justin sped up. Obviously he was running late for something. Looking around, I had no clue where we were off to.

Justin began to look back. Oh no! Quickly I darted behind a bush and crouched down. Hopefully, he hadn't seen me. Slowly; I counted to 20 in my head. Once I reached 20, I peeked my head out from the bush. He was already on the move again. He was so fast.

Quickly, I uncrouched and got up from behind the bush. Why did he have to be running now? Running after Justin, I tried to be as quiet as possible. If he knew I was following he would probably be upset with me. Not only that, but he probably wouldn't go where he was going. And I wanted to know where he was going.

Soon the running stopped, and we were walking. We ended up at the old diner. Justin then went inside. Time to stake out. Quickly, I hid out near a tree that had had a clear view of the diner. Obviously no one would notice me.

Wait, was Justin here to go on a date with another girl? It seemed unlikely, but I've had doubts since Paris. Ever since the Barbara thing, I don't know....I mean I trusted Justin. But I just wanted to make sure it didn't happen again. Plus I hated having these slight trust issues. Might as well just stake out for awhile......just to make sure.

Justin's P.O.V.

Rushing into the diner, I headed to Mel's office to get my clothes out of my locker. Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw Ruby shaking her head. Keeping my eyes glued to the floor, I avoided her eyes. "Late, newbie," Ruby chuckled. Rolling my eyes,  I continued to Mel's office. Quickly, I changed into my uniform and stashed  my clothes into my locker.
