TWELVE

Briella's POV

"In my office now!" Napatayo naman ako agad sa pag sigaw ni Dad. Sinundan ko kaagad siya sa kanyang opisina.

"Hey, what's wrong dad?"

Pagkadating namin ay sinarado niya agad ang pinto at di siya mapakali.

"Starting monday, you are a Junior Partner."

"Dad?!"

"You heard me right, I promoted you."

"But why? Is that the reason why you conducted a meeting?" Bigla bigla naman siyang nag decide sinabi ko na nga na di pa ko ready.

"No, that's the outcome of the meeting. That's the decision I have to make."

"Why? What happened?" Kinabahan ako, naalala ko yung sinabi niya nung nakaraan. If this situation gets worse, mapapromote ako. 

"Anthony Briones is the new Managing Partner starting next week." he looked me in the eye. I can see his frustration. Umupo siya sa sofa. Umupo ako sa tabi niya

"What? How did that happened?" Gulat na gulat, napasigaw. Gusto kong sugurin si Anthony, pero anong magagawa ko?

"I don't know, but Nina have this files from 2005-2009 saying that I swindled the money. She also connected the 8 million that was lost in April."

"Nina? Mike and I suspected her that she's doing something but I didn't know that she's capable of doing this."

Kumuha ako ng tubig at inabot sakanya.

"Who voted no?"

"Almost all of them."

"What is Richard's vote?"

"It doesn't matter anyway."

"No dad, I need to know."

Hindi siya sumagot. Why do I have this feeling that he voted forAnthony.

"Dad?"

"Yes, he voted for him. But even if he didn't the result will be the same."

Hindi ako nag salita. Ayoko ng dagdagan pa yung iniisip niya pero I feel betrayed and I'm so disappointed. How can he vote against my father? Kahit man lang for respect for my dad or kahit man lang para sakin sana.

"Can you give me a minute sweetie? I just need to make phone calls."

"Are you gonna be okay?"

"yes, I will call you after this."

"Alright, I'll be in my office. Please update me dad."

He just nodded nag dadalawang isip akong umalis, pero lumabas padin ako ng opisina niya. I don't know what to feel. Naawa ako kay dad, sana hindi din ito makarating kay Chairman. All his life he worked so hard to build this company tapos mawawala lang sakanya na parang bula and not just that, pwede pa siyang makulong dahil sa kasinungalingan nila.

Ayokong bumalik ng opisina ko, as much as possible ayokong mag stay muna dito but what if my dad needs me?

"Brie?"

"Mike.."

"Are you okay?" Tanong niya habang papasok kami sa work room. Gusto ko munang tumambay dito kahit wala naman akong gagawin.

"Did you vote for Anthony?" Mahinang tanong ko. I don't know who to trust anymore.

"Ofcourse not!" I hugged him. Dala ng emosyon marahil, naramdaman kong nagulat siya at agad akong bumitaw.
