"There are two kinds of guilt: the kind that drowns you until you're useless, and the kind that fires your soul to purpose."

North's P.O.V

I woke up with a huge headache like I had been hit fifty times with a metal bat. I groaned and gently placed a hand on the back of my head to try and calm the pain. I slowly forced my tired eyes opened and I saw that I was laying in my bed but everything was dark. Must be night.

I sat up slowly, leaning against the headboard for support. I looked over to the windows and started thinking about the events from before, Vampire King, Constance, everything. At first I was angry, ready to shift and hunt them down for having the nerve to call her theirs but then I felt the wave of sadness.

Constance is trapped there and can't get out without my help but I can't take on a whole Vampire army at once, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm not strong enough. I leaned my head back and closed my eyes, gushing over how useless I was to this, to her.

I took a deep breath and opened my eyes, deciding to stop feeling sorry for myself, that's not going to help the situation at all. "Drowning in self-pity is not a good look for you North" A voice spoke in the darkness. I would have turned on my light or gone into full attack mode if I didn't know who it was.

"What do you want Nymeria?" I asked completely annoyed. She sighed in frustration, "It wouldn't hurt to act like an adult for once" she commented going to sit on the end of my bed, allowing me to only see a shadow of her appearance.

"I don't care about that, I can act how I want" I snapped back, I could feel her rolling her eyes at me. "Whatever, did you forget our deal?" she asked with a smirk I can only imagine. Then I recalled what we talked about, the way to get Conny back, but that seemed impossible now.

"Yeah but what's the point, they have her and they aren't going to give her up, Game over" after maybe three seconds, I felt something hard smack my head, "OW!" I said reaching up to rub my head in pain. "Stupid boy!" she scolded with a glare, I think.

"It's not impossible to get her back, and they is no giving up. She's your mate stupid!!!!!" she quiet yelled, I guess trying not to wake anyone else up. "We're getting her back and you're gonna help whether you think it's useless or not, trust me when I say I have a plan OK!?" I quickly nodded, getting a little afraid of her.

She sighed, calming down from her angry outburst. "I'm sorry, I just want my mate" I said plainly, I felt a hand on my shoulder, "I know and we're going to get her back, I with you in this all the way but for this to work, I need you to be with me" she spoke in a serious tone and I nodded with a smile, "I'm with you, all the way" I spoke confidently.

"Alright, well I think I have a solid plan we can go for" I nodded and said sitting up straight, "Okay, talk" she chuckled then started speaking, "Remember when I said we have to get something they want to get them to listen let alone trade?" I nodded, "Yeah" she swallowed then said, "Well I think I know where to get something they want".

I instantly interested, "What?" I demanded leaning forward, she chuckled again, "Well I did some digging around and you know how the King has children?" I nodded remembering their stupid faces. "Well, what happened to their mother, to the Vampire Queen?" My smile widened at this.

Finally a chance to make them feel the same pain as me. "While everyone assumed she died long ago, I know she's alive" I swear my jaw is going to break with how much smiling I'm doing, I know, I'm a horrible person, move on. "I went back a few years and discovered that someone took her, someone powerful and the Vampire King was so upset that he almost gave his life to get her back".

My eyes widened, that heartless bloodsucker cares about someone, fascinating. "He was so desperate that he tried to trade one of the Lycan's he stole to get her back, the person did take the Lycan but went back on the deal last minute and went into hiding to avoid the Kings anger.

This persons smart but also dangerous, it takes a swift mine to master those two qualities" I nodded, too excited, then I spoke, "So we're gonna get back the Queen and trade her for Constance" she nodded, "And peace, they will surrender" she added which just made me smile more, she's right, this plan is perfect.

"So who's the person that took them?" I could feel worry start to appear with her which confused and concerned me. "Ever heard of the Demon King?" I was now even more confused. Jeez, how many supernatural creatures are there?

"I'm not surprised you didn't, people are afraid to say his name these days, can't say I blame them, he is a ruthless man" she sighed again then went on, "The Vampires, Werewolves, witches, all of us have been trying to make a treaty or peace claim with him and the Demon kind but he refuses.

Saying he doesn't want anything to do with any of us. But when the Vamps pissed him off, he took their Queen some how" I stopped her and said, "Wait, so we're going to steal from him?" she shook her head, "No, we're going to make a deal with him, get on his good side first" I slowly nodded confidently.

"Just a simple trade, that's all," she said with a smooth voice like this was going to be easy. "Why don't we just tell the other Alpha's and we can do this faster?" she chuckled again, "Because they'll blow this out of proportion, and this is only a two person job" She reasoned, I smiled thinking of this like a spy movie.

"So, how do we find the Demon King?"

"Hell of course"
