Before Calum even had the chance to get up, you were gone. Running back to your room, locking the door when you got there. Calum felt terrible. He didn't want to hurt you, he loved you. But he had to marry Katerina, she was pregnant with his baby after all.

It was a drunken mistake he made a few weeks ago, and now he had to deal with the consequences. He didn't remember exactly what happened, but he could figure it out, it was his friend's birthday, and he had decided to buy drinks for everyone at the hotel's bar. He remembers seeing the brunette with her friends in the booth at the corner of the room, he remembers downing his 4th shot and approaching her, he remembers drinking 3 more shots before going up to the room he'd rented for the night, but after that he couldn't remember anything. She had told him what happened, how they were so drunk that every precaution slipped their minds She had also told him how she woke up her friends barging in the room, dragging her out. Calum recalled none of this, granted he didn't wake up until one of his guards was shoving him into the car taking him back to the palace. Calum loved to party but was relatively safe about it, he stayed at the same hotel, same room, so if he didn't come back the next morning, his security would know where to find him. Calum was safe, he didn't want to mess anything up for his family, he loved them, but he also wanted to live a full life so he made sure that he wouldn't put them in trouble. But this, Katerina and the baby, that wasn't being safe, Calum knew it was a bad idea to go out the same night he saw you talking to the stable boy. Calum knew it was his jealousy, you two had barely talked within the last year but there he was, angry at the thought of you talking to another boy. And to get you and the boy out of his mind he found the brunette in the bar. He had let his anger cloud his judgement and now he had to deal with the outcomes.

He remembered when Katerina came up to him three weeks later, "Calum we need to talk" Did he do something wrong? He was sure that when he was woken up she was already gone. "What's wrong?" She pulled him aside. "Calum I'm late." she looked worried, was he supposed to meet her here or some–No, she couldn't be. "What do you mean late, you cannot be pregnant, this cannot happen. We were safe." He was all over the place, what would his parents say, his sister? What would you think of him. "How do you know? We were both so out of it, I barely remember anything. Whatever happened, happened. I'm keeping it Calum, and if you don't want a scandal I suggest you figure out what we're doing." He knew what she meant, they had to get married, to the elders of the kingdom, it was frowned upon to have a child out of wedlock and if the prince were to do it there would be chaos.
