Prince Luke - Part 2

You were out in the courtyard under the shade of a large tree. You were waiting for Luke to show up since he said that he needed to go get something. You had been in the palace for almost two weeks and couldn't be anymore grateful to him or his family.

You remembered that once you had recovered, Luke insisted that you stayed. You really didn't want to, but he said that you needed to since the streets weren't a safe place for someone who had just woken up from a beating. You accepted and were immediately treated as the prince's guest and waited on like royalty.

Those two weeks were filled with Luke showing you around the castle and through his future kingdom. He made you feel at home and welcomed something that not many people would do, especially when they were royalty. He was always there for you and that made you grow attached to the blond blue eyed prince, so attached that you were worried when you weren't with him.

But due to being beaten, you ended up having trust issues with everyone around you; it didn't matter if they were really kind to you, since in the back of your mind, you had this small hint of doubt that made you not fully trust them and made you keep your distance from everyone but Luke.

He first noticed it when Luke decided that you needed new clothes, since your current clothes were dirty and tattered. He went to the royal seamstresses and asked that you have sundresses made since it was currently summer in the kingdom. They immediately went to your room wanting to get your measurements, but instead of letting them take your measurement, you immediately panicked when you saw them approach you.

It was at that moment that Luke knew that you were afraid of human contact from strangers, but not of him since you immediately ran into his arms hoping he would keep you safe, like he had promised. He smiled and told them that they could take a guess at your size and measurements since they were simple dresses, and to your surprise, they fit perfectly, and he would always complement you on how beautiful they were.

He had kept you safe and was your hero that you just needed to trust him, especially since he was keeping his promise of keeping you safe, especially when other people approached you. Whenever anyone would come near you, you would always find comfort in Luke, hiding behind him as he held your hand, rubbing small soothing circles on the back of your hand. He genuinely cared for you that in those two weeks or so, he slowly made himself into your heart, something that you thought wouldn't be possible, but he did.

"(Y/N)" you heard and saw the familiar blond prince say as he showed up with a smile.

"Hi Luke," you said with a shy smile.

You were about to get up till you felt a warm hand on your shoulder keeping you from moving, "Don't get up (Y/N), I'll sit with you," he said as he sat himself beside you on the soft grass.

"But your clothes will get dirty," you said not wanting them to fill with grass stains.

"Its fine (Y/N), I really hate wearing them to start with, and trust me I have more," he said as he adjusted himself on the grass next to you.

You felt the tips of his fingertips brushing against yours; it was only a brief soft touch, but it was enough to make your heart race. Luke pulled his hand back quickly "I'm sorry (Y/N), I didn't mean to," he said apologizing for touching you.

Although Luke knew that you didn't mind him around you, it didn't stop from being hesitant around you. Luke felt that given what has happened, you might not want anyone to be too close to you...including himself. He didn't want to scare you in anyway and promised himself that he wouldn't ever make you feel uncomfortable and would keep you safe, which he did greatly.
