You were nervous, nope that was an understatement, you were terrified. It was finally the day of the ball, and you didn't know what to expect. You had searched everywhere for Calum, looking for him all over the town, in hopes that he would give you an explanation, but you haven't seen him since the day at the clock tower.
You still blushed at the memory of his lips pressed against yours, the way that he kissed yours, like two puzzle pieces fitting perfectly with one another; they just seemed perfect for one another. You lightly touched your lips, as your other hand held the pendent that he gave you, you wanted to kiss him again and again, until you couldn't get enough, but you had no idea where he was. But hopefully he would be at the ball, he said he would.
But the main reason that you were nervous was because you didn't know what to wear. You knew that you had nice clothes, but you weren't sure that they were nice enough to wear to the prince's ball. You weren't sure if any of your dresses were good for the ball; this was the prince's royal masquerade ball, the ball that would finally introduce him to the town.
But worst of all, you weren't sure what dress would match the mask that was sent to you this morning. You weren't even sure when the mask had arrived, all you remember was opening the door to go get something from the neighbors when there at your doorstep was a beautifully wrapped gift. You were shocked at seeing this gift, thinking that it may not even have been yours, but there on a card was your name.
You went back inside holding the wrapped box, you opened the card first, which you guessed was from Calum, telling you to wear this mask at the box and hopefully you would like it. You didn't know how he even knew where you lived, but your best guess was that he asked someone from the clock tower on where you lived. You began opening the box and gasped the moment you saw what was inside it.
There in the box was a beautiful gold mask; you noticed the small crystal beads that lined the eyes, the swirls of the metal that was the mask, the small flower like detail and the crest on top, making it look like a small tiara. You were amazed by this, you would have never guessed that anyone would ever give you something this beautiful, part of you felt like you couldn't accept something like this, but you had to wear it to the ball.

You just couldn't decide what to wear that would go with this mask. You thought that something would come to you, but you knew that with time running short, you just had to get your (fav color) dress that you usually wear to balls and begin to get ready.

You were standing before the palace walls, the doors open and welcoming all guests to the grand royal ball, and you weren't sure if you should go in or not. You hoped that Calum would be outside waiting for you, but as you looked around, you noticed that no one was waiting for you. You looked around and noticed many people wearing their masks, making everyone seem unrecognizable, but one thing that you did notice was that couples were wearing similar masks. That gave you the idea that maybe Calum was also wearing a mask similar to yours, but so far nothing like that was walking past you.
