Ashton's POV:
Brilliant, just brilliant. I'd been tied to a tree, and now the thieves were going through the bags strapped to my horse. "Show your guest around the forest," my mother said. "Take her on a picnic. See if she's different from the others." Well mum, do you think we should've went on a picnic now? The four trees were in a row, Princess Whatever, a really foreign name I can't pronounce, me, and 2 of the Knights that had accompanied us.

"I can get you out of here, but you have to remain calm and do what I say." A voice came from behind me quietly. "Okay," I whispered back, not really knowing why I decided to suddenly trust this stranger who had not looked me in the face. Turning my head I saw the ropes tied around the princess' arms fall, and she ran around to the figure who cut the ropes around her wrists and ankles before giving her instructions on where to hide. The figure had a royal blue cloak over them and a brown hat sitting on their head. As the figure came behind my tree, one of the thieves heard a snap and turned around to see the girl once tied to a tree had disappeared. As he told his friend, my ropes fell from behind me. "Who goes there?" they shouted. I expected the stranger to run at first sight, but instead, they came out into the middle of the clearing, right in front of the 2 men. "Jonathan, Leroy. My fondest greetings old companions. I haven't seen you both since you both were trying to steal from the market place," the person told them. "Oh, not you again," he said. "Oh yes, it is great to see thy again, but thee has issues with what thy has done with thoust people tied to the trees. Especially since 2 of them are in armor and they're royal horses," the person teased. "Oh yeah," the other man said. "What ya gonna do about it? I know bluffers like you. You're all bark and no bite," he said. "Oh really?" the stranger said, taking off their cloak, to find a puffy shirt, the same royal blue underneath and bottoms that were brown like their hat. They were wearing brown leather boots as well and had a sword strapped across their hips. "Well, shall I show you how hard I can bite?" Stranger asked. The unfamiliar person started to attack. Stranger shoved the first man to the side with a decent amount of strength so he hit his head off a tree trunk. Clashing swords with the second thief, they quickly blocked attacks before knocking the sword out of the criminal's palm and kicking up in the stomach so he fell back to the ground by the horses. Yet my savior didn't have time to rest for as Stranger turned around they saw the first man had picked up the sword and was now attacking again. He aimed the sword at the stranger's throat, but they ducked, causing them to lose their hat. And that was when I realised. The hair fell out, cascading down the side of the person's face, a curved jawline, full pink lips and cheeks. But on it was the determined face of a warrior. The stranger, our savior, the incredible swords fighter and the warrior...was a girl.

Y/N's POV:
He was kicking up a big fuss. My next spar, caused him to be unbalanced. I hit the ground and kicked his feet out from underneath him. I quickly scrambled to my feet and felt in my belt for the horn, which gave a mighty sound across the forest, until I was pushed off my feet by the first person. I couldn't see him properly with my hat over my eyes. His head was mostly bald with a few prickly spots, a crooked nose as if it'd been broken and grimly teeth, yellow and black with a few missing. He began attempting to grab my throat, but with a punch in his face, he quickly retreated before I pushed him back so I could take over. I hit his head on the hard roots of a tree a couple of times until it seemed like he was out cold. I then again turned around to see the other man running towards me, holding the sword above his head. I ducked again and ran to grab my sword, as the other thief was too busy attempting to get theirs out of the tree which had seemed to encase it. Grabbing a decent sized rock I hit him in the head so he was lying next to his friend, both blacked out.

Turning back to the captives, it was at that moment Howler ran in. The wolf stood by my side, growling as he circled me. I knelt down and stroked him. "A bit late wolfy, don't worry though. I'm fine," I said giving him a hug. The wolf then went back to its perky self, howling at me. I smiled at it before running over to get the prisoners out. "Are they dead?" the man asked. He was handsome no doubt, but it was obvious who he was. By the clothes he wore, the way he spoke, who he was with. "No your highness," I told him as I cut his ankle rope. "I don't kill people," I said moving onto his hands. "They're knocked out. Should wake in several hours," I informed him. After getting the Knights free, I saw the Prince had retrieved the princess. Howler was jumping up at her, as she was freaking out. "Get that filthy mutt away from me," she shrieked, falling back against the trunk. "Howler, here boy," I called him as he ran over. "Sorry your majesty, he's just excited. On the upside it means he likes you," I said, trying to make light of the situation. "I don't care that he likes me. This has been the worst day of my life, and I demand we go back to the castle. NOW!" she commanded, and both Knights quickly started readying the horses. "Well, that's one less option for a wife." The strange accent came from behind me. His pronunciation was different. "Was that what this trip was for? Bonding my prince?" I asked. "Yup. And please call me Ashton. I hate using titles." He asked. "As you wish Ashton," I said. I saw him smile, his tanned cheeks lifted at me. "Would you do us the honor of dining with us tonight? It would be great to have such an amazing fighter with us. And as a way of saying thank you for saving us," he asked. "Oh, I don't know if I can. I don't have the proper attire, and it couldn't be right to have a non royal or someone not of higher class blood at the dinner table," I told him. "Well, then it will make a nice change. I wish for you to be there. As for your attire, if you really feel so insecure, I can have a dress made for you," he offered. "No thank you, your majesty, it's too kind an offer for me to accept," I said. "Please. When they discovered you were helping us, you could've ran. You could've never helped us in the first place. Please, join me for supper," he pleaded. "If it's what you wish my prince," I replied. "Ashton," he corrected. "Apologies Ashton." I smiled. He saw Howler wagging his tail beside me. "He came quite quick," he commented, kneeling down to pet him. "He did. Wolves once trained are very loyal creatures. I found Howler when his mother was dead, and he would've died, but I couldn't just ignore a living creature in need. I can't still today really. People say I have a suicide wish," I told him.

Once he sat on the horse, he leant me a hand. I pulled myself up, with a little help from him and place my arms around his waist as we rode from the forest, leaving the two men behind to be guarded by Howler until they woke up. "Will he be okay? Watching them? What happens if they try something?" Ashton asked concerned. "He knows if one starts stirring to hide. Then once one wakes up he'll run back home to the shack," I told him. "It's nice that you care Ashton," I told him. "Of course I care," he said. "I'm not having an innocent living creature hurt like that," he told me. "I think the princess is giving me death glares. I'm pretty sure she wants to shoot an arrow at me right now," I whispered in his ear. "She's just jealous. You've gotten more out of me than any princess who's came to the castle in the last four years," he said. I blushed at his comment. "And why is that Ashton?" I asked. "Because you're so different from every girl who's been to the castle in the last 4 years."
