        "Let's see here... Clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hairbrush, phone, phone charger, wallet, shampoo, conditioner..." I'm doing a quiet check list of what I've already packed in my gem for our trip to visit Ruth. Garnet is still asleep because I got up early and got ready because I'm soo excited. "What else am I missing?" I pat down my body and it hits me, "The watch!" I whisper yell. Tiptoeing to my night stand, I grab the watch and put it in my jeans pocket. "That's it I reckon..." I sit down on the end of the bed and double check my list mentally, but then I feel a pair of hands pull me down by my shirt.
        "You're missing one thing..." I look at Garnet and she has her eyes closed. I kiss her, "Was that it?" She smiles and snuggles against my chest, "No, but we like that answer better than the right one..." She groggily answers. "I cock a brow, " Which is?" She hums, "Sleep." I look down at her and kiss the top of her head, "But I'm already up." "Yeah, three hours early."
I hold her closer and look up at the ceiling with a decent smile on my face. "I'm sorry I woke you, but I'm just so excited that I get to see my family and y'all get to meet them." She leans her head up, "But we are your family." I look down and her with a little guilt and I squeeze her a little, "I know that and y'all are the best one at that, but they're my monstrous family, they're totally a different story." I chuckle at the last part.
         "Like how?" She asks me, which kind of catches me off guard. I let out a sigh between my teeth and look back at the ceiling, using my right arm as a prop. "My Uncle William, but everyone calls him Bill, is an Alpha. Ya know the leader of the pack." She hums. "Anyways, the last time I saw him, he was kind of strict, but he's not as strict as my father was... He was different. He never did beat Ruth. I would of personally killed him myself if he did. Nobody should beat anyone, especially not how my father did."
        "But he didn't and that's the important thing." She leans her head back down and nuzzles her head back against my chest. "Yeah, he didn't." I give her head a kiss again and attempt to get out of bed, but she holds me down. I give a little annoyed face by making my lips press together. Not again. "Babe, can I-" "No." "But I-" "I don't care, you are not getting up." No use to argue with her, "Fine." I can tell she's smiling a little, I can feel it.
                      ~Time Skip~
         "Ugh... Why do we have to leave so early?!" Amethyst whines as she tries to get comfortable in one of the train's cart's seats. "Because it takes about twenty plus hours to get from Empire City to New Orleans." Pearl informs her as she sits with a neck cushion in front of Amethyst beside the window. "Ugh!" She whines more and slumps down in her seat.
          "Don't worry Ame, you can sleep on our way there." I say putting Steven's and Connie's luggage on the top rack above the seats. "Oh, I plan on it." She says and begin snoring, I just roll my eyes. "Wow! I feel like we're going to Hogwarts!" Connie says as I take a seat beside Garnet in the red velvet cart. My left hand automatically finds her knee and she cups it there to make sure it stays. "Yeah! Just as long as he who shall not be named is not going to be at Ruth's." I smirk, "You mean Volde-" Steven covers my mouth with his hand. "Shush y/n! You can't say his name!" He whisper yells and I just roll my eyes. "Voldemort." Garnet says with a small smirk and Steven falls to his knees, "Nooooooo!" He yells kind of loud, but not too loud. Garnet and I just chuckle.
           "Why would you say his name Garnet?!" He asks with a worried look, she smirks, "Because I can."  We look at each other and chuckle like the kids. Connie pats Steven's shoulder and helps him up to his seat. "Its gonna be fine Steven, its not like they can summon him." Connie says trying to reassure him. I lean over and slide the door close, "I wouldn't say that." "What do you mean y/n?" Connie asks and I fail at hiding a smirk. "Oh nothing, its just that Ruth's wife's aunt is a witchdoctor." "Whaaattt?!" The kids yell in unison. I smirk. "Yep, so behave." They both straighten up after that.
           "So y/n, is all of your family um..." Pearl trails off, sounding uneasy of what to say. "Monsters?" I arch a brow and look at her. She blushes, "Um... I was going to say unique." "I'm just messing with you Pearl, but yeah, they're monsters." "Ooh! Family history time!" Steven says with stars in his eyes and Connie seconds him. "Alright, get comfy." They both cover up with a light gray blanket and huddle against each other, "Okay, we're ready!" They both say and I take in a breath with a smile.
