                     ~Time Skip~
"So, let me see if I got this straight... Your uncle is the wolfman and he's strict." "The Mummy is your great great great times a million aunt who was a nurse and always took care of everyone, which explains the wraps and everyone called her mummy." "Frankenstein's monster is your cousin and works at an underground market for monsters, sewing." "And The Invisible Man is your other cousin who loves to play hide and seek." Connie and Steven is confirming the info of my family history. "Yeah Carl is the champion of hide and seek. You never want to play it with him... He always cheats..." I mumble out the last part. "That is soo cool!" The kids shout with stars in their eyes. I smile, "Thanks."
Garnet switched seats with Amethyst, so she could play a game of chess with Pearl, and by the looks of it, it'll be another stalemate. "Ugh, how much longer till we get there?" Amethyst asks laying in her seat as a cat. "Not much longer. Maybe about fourteen hours... Give or take." I say and she responds with a loud, irritated sigh. "Why did we even take the train?! We could've used Lion!" Amethyst shapeshifted back into her normal self and crosses her arms. "Pearl and I have never been on a train before, and we wanted to know what it was like." Garnet responds after she takes one of Pearl's rooks with her bishop, "Check."
"What the- I completely forgot that you had that bishop! Ugh..." She facepalms herself as she tries to come up with another strategy. Maybe someone will actually win the time. I give a little smile as I see Garnet smirk at the game's board. Steven crawls over to sit on Garnet's lap. "Can you two teach Connie and I how to play?" "Yeah! That would be so cool if you could! We could play chess like in Harry Potter!" "Yeah! Except for the part where we don't get hurt!" I chuckle a little. "Boooorrrrrrrring." Amethyst says and I nudge her.
"Come on Ame, if you don't want to learn chess, we could go explore the train." Garnet stops in her tracks and looks up at me emotionless. I give her a small smile in return. "Its better than sitting crammed up in this joint." She jumps off her seat and leaves the cart. "We'll be back later." I say to Garnet and give her a little wave as I close the cart's door.
"Yo Ame, wait up." I jog a little to catch up with her. She stops and looks back at me, then she starts walking when I catch up. "So, what do you want to do?" She shrugs, "Anything that doesn't involve learning." I smile, "Alright. What did you and Steven do when y'all were 'On the run' sort of speak when y'all was on that one train?" "Eh, we just talked and sang mostly." "Well, I don't really feel like singing..." I cough.
We make our way to the end of our cart to the metal door and Amethyst opens it up. "Dude! It leads outside!" We look down at the tracks flying underneath us. "Yeah!" We have to scream to hear each other. "Hey! Wanna do something fun?!" I look over at her, "Like what?!" She looks back up to me and smirks.
                 ~Ruby's POV~
"Babe, I'm getting tired of playing chess... Can we just win already?" "Patience love, Pearl is getting really into and I want to see if she can actually beat me this time." Sigh. I look over with my eye to see that Steven and Connie are getting kind of bored, trying to learn chess, but that changes when Steven gets a text. I see him smile down at his phone with stars in his eyes. "Hey guys, can Connie and I go hang out with y/n and Amethyst?" Steven asks as he gets out of our lap.
"Yes, but be careful, we don't want you to get lost or hurt on here. So look out for each other." Pearl says as she calculates her next move. Maybe I can join them? I'm up for anything to get out of this chess tournament. I cough to myself, "Hey babe? Do you mind if I tag along with the kids?" I ask Sapphy as sweetly as I can. I can feel Garnet smile. "Of course love, if that's what you want."
We unfuse. "Ruby! Sapphire!" The kids exclaim in unison with stars in their eyes. "Hey." I wave with a smile, "Hello." Sapphy greets sweetly. I hop down from the seat and lean my head up to kiss Sapphy. "Thanks babe." I kiss her, "No problem love, now you five go have fun and try to stay out of trouble." " No promises." I wink, then I grab the kids hands and head out of our cart.
I close the door behind us and we start walking down the aisle. "Ruby! Its so nice to see you and Sapphire again!" Steven says and him and Connie gives me a hug. "Its good to see y'all too." We break the hug and continue walking. "Yeah, its always a honor to see both of you, but..." Connie trails off, contemplating about what to say. "But?" "But, why are you here?" Steven finishes for her. "Yeah, are you two fighting?" I can't help but laugh a little, "Oh no, we ain't fighting." I can feel them staring at me from both sides. "Then why are you here?" Connie asks and I stop and face them, "Because I don't really like chess to be honest. I just play it because Sapphy enjoys it." They both give me 'awes' and a hug. "That is so romantic." Connie says and I can't help but blush.
They break the hug and we resume walking. "So Steven, what did y/n and Amethyst want when they texted you?" "Oh!" Steven facepalms himself, "Dang it! I can't tell you!" I give him a confused look, "Can't tell me what?" He hands Connie the phone she scans the phone with her eyes, then looks back up with a curious look. "Hmm, well she isn't here, only Ruby is, so I think it doesn't count." "What doesn't count?" I ask with a little temper in my voice. "Hmm, I guess you're right. We can tell her." Steven says and turns to me. "Hey Ruby, what would you say if we invited you to a game of Cowboys and Indians off the train?" I look at them with stars in my eyes, "I'd say..."
                    ~Y/n's POV~
"I call the Indians!" Ruby yells as she stands beside me and does an Indian battle cry from her mouth. I can't help but smile. Us five are standing in the middle of a grassy field about a mile from the railroad tracks and we're waiting till our train comes around the corner to begin our 'battle'. "Babe, why didn't you want me to know you was off the train?" She looks up at me and I lift up a finger, "Correction, I didn't want Garnet to know because I didn't feel like dying if I got hurt outside the train." "Smart boy/girl." "Thank you." I kneel down and give her a quick kiss. "Yeah, I wouldn't of have minded if you got off the train to play something, but Sapphy on the other hand..." She gives me an uneasy face, "I got ya." "I mean I care about your safety too, but sometimes you have to have a little fun." She smiles, then we hear the train and see its face poke out from the corner of the track.
Speaking of fun... I replicate myself into about twenty cowboys and Indians each. The cowboys is Steven, Amethyst and Connie and the Indians are Ruby and I.  "Is everyone ready?!" I shout as we all get in our teams. "Ready!" Everyone says, except for me. "Okay remember the rules, number one... No going for the gem, except for on the duplicates!" Amethyst hands Steven and Connie one of her whips, because they didn't bring Rose's sword down here. Amethyst cracks her whip and the kids try to imitate her, "Right!" They say and I gulp trying to swallow my fear, "T-T-Two! Please don't come near the real me with those things!" The trio looks down at their whips, then back up at me and gives me a guilty, but serious nod. I sigh in relief and faze on a classic Indian chief's headdress, "And three! Go! Have! Fun!" The train blows its whistle and I let out a battle cry, along with Ruby and draw our weapons and both teams go at it.
