~Time Skip Y/n's POV~
"Do we really have to do this Steven?" "Yes Y/n, its tradition." He hands me two pots so I can bang them together to bring in the New Year. I take them hesitantly and he runs back over to Connie and Greg in the van, "This is gonna hurt my superhearing." I reposition myself on the red and white checkered blanket beside Garnet and Amethyst, "But I'll do it." Garnet kisses my cheek, "You'll be fine."
Everybody is gathered on the beach to watch the fireworks go off with each other and I can't help but see all of the families together. Father never wanted to take me to see the light show because of the humans, but every once in a blue moon he took me, but of course we kept our distance. "What are you looking at love?" I feel Garnet lean close to me. I smile a little, "Oh nothing really. I just love how everyone and their family comes out to enjoy something together." "You never got to experience that, huh?" I shake my head, "No, but now I get to." I put my arm around her waist and pull her close and kiss her temple.
"Ugh! Come on guys! Don't ruin every holiday for us!" I look over at the grossed out Amethyst and smirk, "Sorry Ame, but its gonna be like this every holiday." Garnet kisses me on the cheek and it makes her gag, "Thanks for ruining the holidays for me." I grin widely, "You're welcome." She rolls her eyes and turns back to the hot dog she's eating.
"Y/n, would you or Garnet like a hotdog or burger from the grill?" Greg has the entire grill filled with various meats, but I'm not really hungry. I look over at Garnet and asks if she wants one, but she shakes her head no. Turning my attention back to Greg, I answer for the both of us, "No thank you Greg, we're good." He presses down on a patty and steam rises from it, "Are you sure? We got plenty." I shake my head with a smile, "Nah, Amethyst can have mine." "And our's." Garnet chimes in. "Sweet!" Amethyst rushes up to the grill and grabs more food for her. I just shake my head with a smile.

Its only a minute before the new year and everyone is getting ready to hit their pots. "Are you ready love?" Garnet asks with her usual smile, and I sigh with one, "Ready as I'll ever be." Steven makes everyone stand up and I see Garnet shiver when a gust of wind comes by us. I immediately take off my jacket and put it on her shoulders, "There you go babe." I give her a light squeeze and she thanks me with a kiss.
"Okay everybody this is it! Ten!" Steven starts the countdown and everybody chimes in. "Nine! Eight!" Time seems to slow down as I look around to everyone chanting. Garnet looks so beautiful under the moonlight. Her beauty radiates from it. Turning my head, I see Amethyst with a devilish wide grin widening her arms to make a huge bang with two pot lids. Pearl is staring up at the stars with a smile, holding her metal pot and wooden spoon. Steven and Connie has stars in their eyes and awaiting for their time to shine. And Greg, well, he has a hotdog in his mouth, but he still has his pans.
Time goes back to normal when I snap my head back forward and to the sky. "Seven! Six! Five! Four!" This is it. I wish every holiday could be like this. Surrounded by friends and family that love you and not having a worried thought in the world.
"Three!" "I love you Garnet." I look over at her and she has a huge smile on her face, "I love you too Y/n." "Two! One! Happy New Year!" Everyone cheers and Garnet and I kiss as everyone bangs the pots around us and the fireworks shoot off. The kiss is sweet and warming and it seems like we're the only two people here in the world right now. Its magical.
"Y/n! Garnet! Quit kissing and bang those pots!" Steven yells at us in a slight laugh. We break the kiss in a chuckle, "Alright... The boy wants us to bang the pots..." "We'll bang the pots." We say against each others lips and I steal a kiss before we show them how its done. We walk a little down from the blanket and look back at the others with a devilish smirk, then we extend our arms, "Y'all want us to show ya how its done?" I look over at Garnet and she finishes my sentence, "We'll show you how its done." Both of us nod at each other then we make our pots collide hard. Its the big bang two point o. Everyone on the beach drops their pans and covers their ears. I'm tempted to cover mine, but I want to show the amateurs how its done.
"Okay! You two win! Put down those pots!" Steven yells. My brain agrees with him, but my pride doesn't. I bang the pots louder and they squeal a little more, "Y/n! G! Come on put em down! I think my eardrums are gonna explode!" I smirk, "What was that guys?! We should beat them louder?! Okay!" "What?! No!" Pearl yells and we bang them one last time, but harder than the rest. BOOM!
Pearl comes up to us after the last ear bleeding clap and confiscate the pots. "I'll be taking those." I hold my hands up in slight surrender, "Yeah, that's for the best." She goes back to the others, which just leaves Garnet and I. She wraps her arms around my neck, while my hands find her waist. "Happy New Year Garnet." I peck her lips, "Happy New Year Y/n... Now do you wanna go take this inside or-" My phone interrupts us and I roll my eyes in annoyance. "Excuse me babe." We let go of one another and I wrestle the phone out of my pocket. When I pull it out, my eyes go wide... Its Bill.
