         "Oh jeez, not again!" Ruth closes her door gently and Garnet and I hop out of the bed of the truck. "What's going on?" Pearl asks out of the window. "Stupid thing overheated again." Ruth kicks the tire in a temper. "Let me have a look at it." I feel under the hood and pop it open and bring the stand up. "Since when do you work on vehicles Mr./Ms. L/n?" Ruth asks in a bit of surprise. "Since, I left home. I had to find some jobs to survive on, but most people wouldn't hire a kid professionally to work, so I had to make my living somehow." I think she is surprised by my answer, but I can feel a little guilt vibe come off her and Garnet, "But don't worry, its good to learn about this kind of stuff, it comes in handy."
           I scan my eyes over every possible part that could possible be leaking, but nothing seems broken or loose. It just looks like she needs to add a coolant or water to the reservoir. "Well it looks like you just need to add a coolant or water to the reservoir, but I would try to invest on getting a new truck. Even though nothing is broken or leaking, a few more trials and errors could be the end of this old rust bucket." I pat the frame of the truck and steam rises out, seconding my advice.
         Ruth goes and opens her door and gently tilts the seat forward to grab some sort of coolant and hands it to me. I pour the blue liquid into the reservoir. "I wish it was that easy y/n, but with bills to pay and mouths to feed and me not having a job, along with a pregnant wife, I can't just go out and buy a new truck." "Hmm." I get done pouring the coolant in the reservoir, "Go see if she'll resurrect." She takes the bottle from my hands and does as I command and the truck starts up with no problem. I smile and close the hood, "Its alive!" I shout and Ruth rolls her eyes at me with a smile, "Thanks nerd!" I tip off an imaginary hat at her and Garnet and I climb back in the bed and assume our positions. Ruth gets us going again, "I didn't know you could fix engines." I nuzzle my head between her neck and shoulder, "Yeah, I know how to do a lot of things thanks to moving around." "What's one of the strangest things you've done?" I laugh a little, "Well, I've done everything from moving icebergs to learn a dog how to surf." (Those are real jobs.) She cocks her head to face me, "Really?" I nod, "Yep, desperate times call for desperate measures." She hums and we watch the truck kick up dirt as we continue go to Ruth's.
                    ~Time Skip~
         With no more truck trouble, we finally end up at Ruth's white two story house. It used to be a plantation farm, but thank God slavery was abolished. The kids are still asleep, so I carry them in, but Amethyst ain't so lucky, Pearl made her get up and walk. There is six bedrooms in the house, so there's plenty of room for all of us. Pearl and Amethyst share a room, Steven and Connie share a room and Garnet and I share a room.
After everyone gets settled in their room, Ruth hugs me goodnight or should I say good morning and closes the door to our room.
          Garnet is sitting on the edge of the bed and I make sure to lock our door. Ruth didn't really do any updates on the house, she mostly kept it original, but I couldn't miss the newly installed bedroom bathroom. "Thank God Ruth installed one of these." I take off my shirt and head to the bathroom to take a shower. "Love, why are you taking a shower so early? Why don't you get some rest before you clean up?" Garnet asks as I hop into the shower, "Because I don't know what Ruth has in mind for us tomorrow, its always a surprise when I sleep over at her house." "What did she do last time you was here?" I begin to wash my face and body, "She waited till I was asleep and she along with our cousin Carl threw me in the swamp with the gators." I chuckle out the last part and I hear the shower curtain part open.

"Hey, when you grow up in a monstrous family, you have to have a little fun once in a while, but I did it whenever my father wasn't around and I knew my cousins wouldn't tell on me because they knew what my father would do.          "Sounds like you had good relationships with your family, except for your father." I smile, "Yeah I did."
She kisses me kind of deeply, "Don't take this the wrong way, but why are you in here? I mean I love taking a shower with you, but I thought you wanted me to come back to bed and shower later." She hums with a little smile and traces down my arm with her fingertips, "Well, we did, but then we saw you strip and hop in and we couldn't resist ourselves. Plus, you said that the kids and Ruth will be keeping us busy somehow or another, so we wanted to have you all to ourselves as much as possible." Her hand makes her way down to my crotch and I give out a little moan, then she pushes my shoulder down, "Well someone's eager." I joke with a smirk as I look up at her as I kneel.
