Ch.63

A thick sheet of fog covers my vision as I hurdle back towards Homeworld's surface. I can't see crap and I dont know how far I am near the ground, until the ground meets my back with a bonecrushing thud. Ow. My whole body is numb, but surprisingly I don't blackout. "I really hate this planet." I say calmly as I gain the will to stand back up, slowly, but surely. Getting to my feet, I stumble a little and whince in pain as I hold my right arm. My shoulder is dislocated. "Dang it! When I get my hands on White Pearl, I'm going to get her!" I yell through gritted teeth. I try to use my left arm to help put my shoulder back in place, but when I do, more pain rises to the surface. "Son of a Diamond!" I extend my fangs, then my eyes widen a little when I realize what I just said. "Wait, would that be Steven?" I guess it would, I better come up with something else to say then.
Looking up from my arm, I look around to see that I'm standing at the bottom of a huge pink building. A small breeze travels in front of my face, sending a familiar scent into my nostrils, "Steven." My eyes scan the building to see if there's any windows or doors that's located on this side of the building and to my luck I see a balcony. "Bingo." I hope Garnet and the others are okay being with the Diamonds, I don't really trust them, except for Steven of course, but that's a different story. "They'll be fine. They're strong women, they can handle themselves." Steven is no different, he's strong and can take care of himself, but there is no way in Hell, I'm going to let him stay around White by himself. I take a few steps back and take a deep breath, "Let's do this."
I use my superspeed and run up the smooth wall until I reach the balcony. My arm is starting to throb in pain as I stop on the railing. "Bloody murder! When I get my hands on White Pearl, I'm gonna-" "Y/n!" I look up to see Steven standing in a decently sized pink room. "Steven!" Jumping down, I make a beeline towards the small cinnamon roll and hug him. "Y/n! Are you okay?! I couldn't see or hear you when White Pearl rebubbled us after she dropped you." I pull back and kneel down to his height, "I'm okay, just dislocated my shoulder. What about you?! Did White hurt you?!" I examine him, "Because is she did, I'm going to-" He licks his palm and puts it on my dislocated shoulder. I shiver in disgust as the warm liquid from his mouth touches my bare skin after he pulls my sleeve out of the way. "I'm fine and now you are too." A loud pop is heard after his spit does its thing and heals my shoulder. I groan in relief, "Thanks." He gives me a small smile, "No problem."
Out of the corner of my eye, I see these small gray creature things from beyond his shoulder. "Um, Steven... What are those?" "What's what Y/n?" I turn him around and point at the small creatures, "Those." He spins around and rubs the back of his neck with a smile, "Oh, those are Peebles. They live in the walls and make things for me whenever I want or need them. Kind of like the clouds in my mom's room at the temple, but instead of clouds, they're Peebles." I straighten up and walk towards a few of them, but they all scatter and go into hiding when I do. "A little shy, aren't they?" "Yeah, I guess they are, but they wasn't for me. They recognize me as Pink." That would explain.
My superhearing picks up on footsteps out in the hallway, so I automatically go on the defensive and shield Steven. "Y/n, what's-" "Someone's coming." I use my right arm and hold him behind me as the footsteps stop at the door. The door slides open with ease and reveals Pearl, our Pearl, behind it. "Pearl!" Steven yells with excitement. I let out sigh of relief as she comes in. "Steven! Y/n!" She comes over and hugs both of us, which we gladly return. "Oh thank the stars! You're both okay! What did White Diamond do? Did she hurt you? Y/n, are you okay? We saw you fall." We all break the hug and I let Steven answer first, "No, she was like "Welcome home." I don't think she understands that I'm not Pink Diamond." Pearl then looks to me, "I'm fine. I dislocated my shoulder, but Steven healed me." I say as I ruffle his hair. "Thank the stars, we were all so worried." Steven and I look at each other, then back to Pearl, "W-Where's Connie? And Garnet, and Amethyst?" Yeah, where's my wife and friends?
"They're still on the ship." She pulls Steven's hotdog duffle bag out of her gem, "I'm only here because I'm bringing your things... And they consider me one of your things." She explains to us, rolling her eyes in annoyance. Poor Pearl. "Yeesh." "So, I guess I can be considered one of your things, huh Steven?" He looks up at me with a sorrowful look and I just smirk, "Don't worry, I don't mind." A chime comes from above us and I go back onto the defensive when I hear more footsteps approaching. "The Diamond's chime. Its Yellow." Pearl explains. "Quick Y/n, turn invisible." I obey Steven's command and quickly turn invisible, just in time for the door to open to reveal Yellow Pearl? Yellow Pearl clasps her hands and bows her head slightly, "Pink Diamond, my Diamond has requested your presence in the extraction chamber." Extraction chamber? That doesn't sound thrilling. Pearl unzips the duffle bag, "Let's get you into a suit." Pearl hands Steven a pair of yellow swimming trunks, "We'll be outside waiting while you change." Me too. I follow the Pearls outside the room and wait on Steven to change. "Pearl, I'm going to change too, I don't want Steven facing Yellow alone." I say as a whisper in her ear. She just nods. Good thing I'm invisible, I can change in plain sight, yet it feels awkward. I shimmer my outfit off and put my gold trunks/bikini on. Much better? I guess.
Steven comes out of the room a moment later changed, then all four of us begin to walk down the corridors. "Swim trunks don't seem very formal." Tell me about it Steven. I'm invisible and uncomfortable. "Trust me, this will be more comfortable than jeans." Thanks for the info. Pearl. Both Pearls are a few feet a head of us and not speaking, yet I hear murmurs. Looking up I see that the columns are whispering to one another. What the? I tap Steven on the shoulder, "Yo Steven, check out the columns." He looks up, but when he does, they quit talking and go still. Raising his hand, he gives them a small greeting, "Hello." Fortunately, they don't respond. This place is weird.
We run to catch up with the Pearls and stop when we come to a big yellow door guarded by Topazes. Yellow Pearl turns to face us, "Pink Diamond." "Please, call me Steven." "Pink Steven." I can't help but smirk, here we go again. "No, just Steven." "Just Steven." I can't help myself. I bend down and whisper in his ear, "Tell her to call you Lasagna." He puts on his best poker face, "Call me Lasagna." Pearl looks at Steven, but I can tell that she's trying to look at me too, "Steven stop. You're going to break her." I whisper in Pearl's ear, "Would that be a bad thing?" She tries to smack me by putting her hand in the air with some force, but I avoid her with a smirk. She then goes over and presses the Diamonds logo on the door while Yellow Pearl bows again, "Have a nice extraction Pink Lasagna." I chuckle quietly to myself as Steven and I enter the steamy room, that was priceless.
Yellow Diamond is already in the steaming room with her head down as we enter trying to relax, but raises it when she sees Steven. "Pink." Steven gives her a slight wave, "Hi Yellow. Cool sauna." "Its new, have a seat." Man, can't even take a compliment. I fan myself before Steven and I obeys her command and jumps up onto the vacant bench in front of her. "So, you met with White. How was it?" "All I got to say was "Hi", and "Um" and "I"." Well, that was rude, but no worries, I'll make sure she apologizes when I see her. A devilish thought creeps into my head about what I might do to her. "Two and a half words, that's a record." "Two and a half words isn't enough." He stands up and I join him to make sure that Yellow doesn't try anything funny. "I still need to talk to White about healing all the corrupted gems." Yellow holds her head, "Hmm, good luck. White never leaves her head these days and she never let's anyone in, except you I guess." And me... But she doesn't know that.
"It's so unfair, I have hundreds of successful crystal system colonies, but you get to see her because your one colony is a failure." Wow. Jealous much? "Maybe you should just fail?" That makes Yellow's eyes open in a snap, but makes her laugh out loud and wipe a fake tear from her eye. "Oh Pink, you always had quite an act for making me laugh. You're almost worth the trouble." Almost? My brows knit together and my fangs extract. I'll show her almost. "Y/n... Chill. I can handle her insult." He whispers through gritted teeth. I take a deep breath and release it, "Fine, I'll let it slide." This time. He sighs after he hears my fangs retract. Another chime is heard from above us. "Already? Excuse me." Yellow says and scrunches her body. Excuse her from what? She tightens her body and wrings herself like a sponge to get rid of the sweat. Steven and I just look on with disgust as the bodily fluids and steam go towards the Diamond shaped drain. Gross. I'm too scarred to listen to Yellow's excuse as she exits the building, that is until I see Blue Pearl standing in the door with Pearl. "Pink Diamond, my Diamond has requested your presence." Oh boy, round two.
