My breath hitches as we make our way onto my uncle's porch, but Garnet helps my find my bearing by grabbing my hand and giving it a light squeeze, "Love its going to be okay." I return the hand squeeze and look at her. I have bats flying around in my stomach, yes I said bats, because I'm going absolutely batty right now because my nerves, judge me if you want, I don't regret that thought.
"What if it doesn't?" She greets my lips with a little kiss and looks up at me with a serious, but low tone, "Then I'll kill him." I'm not going to lie, but her statement made my stomach do a little flip and made a little smile crawl on my face. "I know you would, but I don't want you or the others getting hurt." "We would do anything for you Y/n. You are part of the family and we love you." I look over at Steven and I smile when he gives me the heart hand gesture. I bend down and I ruffle his hair, "And I love y'all too..." I look around to the others and stand up straight, "But if I tell y'all to run, you run. Got it?" I look at them all and they all hesitantly nod, even though they don't want to. "Good." I turn back to the white paint chipped door. The aroma of many wolves loom behind it, and all my instincts is telling me to back off. This isn't your territory. You're outnumbered ten to one. Back off. Ignoring my instincts, I raise my fist and bang on the door.
In about thirty seconds flat, the door swings open and a smiling Ruth stands in front of us. "Hello Y/n." I return the smile, "Hello Ruth." She instantly throws her arms around my neck in a hug and I can't help but return the embrace. "I thought I'd never see you again." Her voice is trembling a little, so I hug her tighter, "You know you can't get rid of me that easily." She backs up and wipes a stray tear, "I know, you're so annoying like a fly that never wants to leave me alone." I chuckle some, "I wouldn't be talking." Now she's the one that's laughing a little, until her gaze falls on Garnet. "Hello Garnet." She comes over and gives Garnet a little hug, to my surprise, she gladly returns it, "Hello Ruth." "Ruth!" Steven runs over and hugs her. She smiles and returns the hug, "What's up little man?" He pulls back and shrugs, "Ya know, the sky. The stars." She rolls her eyes, "Y/n's sarcasm must've rubbed off on you." She arches a brow and I let out a small laugh and hold my arms up in playful surrender, "Hey, I have to rub some of it off to the kid. Besides, I want to see how far he can take it. He makes a good practice, until Garnet and I have kids." Pearl almost chokes on air, "You two are gonna have kids?!" "Eventually, but not now." Garnet says in her calm voice with a small smile and I can't help but mirror it.
"Speaking of kids," Amethyst speaks up, "where are the wolf pups? Its unusually quiet." She's right, I haven't heard nothing being broken or thrown. Ruth let's out a relieved but shaky sigh, "I asked Brie and her aunt to watch them at her aunt's house. I don't want them here in case things go sour with dad and Y/n." Her face forms a frown. That's smart. I don't want Steven or the others in that matter to be here just in case something happens, but Garnet was gonna come no matter what and the others... Well, they're just as stubborn. I sigh and look into the doorway. Let's just get this over with. " Ruth, where is Bill? I want to get this over with." The sun is going down and I want to get this over with before the moon comes out. She looks at me with a nervous look and closes her eyes and breathes deeply, then opens them, "He's in his studies."
Not wasting another moment, I side step Ruth, but before I can make it to far, she grabs my arm. My body instantly freezes, "Be careful Y/n." I look back at her and the others. They all have worried faces. I nod, "I will." My arm pries itself away from Ruth without problem and I go up the stairs. I'll try to be careful, but if push comes to shove, I won't be the one falling. He will.

When I make it up to his studies, my fist hesitates whether to knock or not. "Come in nephew/niece." My eyes widen at the sound of his voice. How does he know that I'm here standing outside of his door? The house is dead silent, I don't know if that's a good or bad thing. I stand there for a moment and think back to my thought, its probably good. "I can smell your presence Y/n. I can smell your vampire blood." I mentally facepalm myself, duh Y/n, that's how he knew you were there. Curse our super senses. I lower my hand down and touch the cold bronze knob, then I close my eyes and take a deep breath in. You can do this Y/n. Maybe we can solve this without violence. I exhale and open my eyes, let's just hope. I twist the knob and open the door.
"Ahh Y/n! Welcome back!" He's leaning back in his chair with open arms, looking like a scarecrow in the middle of a cornfield. He's about to get up to greet me properly, but he quickly changes his mind when I send him a death stare. Recovering from his embarrassment, he shines his white teeth at me, his canines looking brighter than the rest. "Please," he sways his hand at the vacant chair in front of his desk, "sit." I gently shut the door and take his offer, not wanting to be rude. I may be feeling a burning hate to kill him right now and other different emotions, but I still have manners.
The cold leather greets me as I take a seat hesitantly, but I don't get too comfy. He leans forward on his desk and clasps his hands with a smile, "So, how was the wedding nephew/niece? I bet you looked great as always, but I bet Garnet looked better." He winks at me as I try my best to not smash his face into the desk right now. Swallowing down the negativity, I answer, "It was good and yes, Garnet was the most beautifullest one there." "That's what I thought, but I bet she looked better on the honeymoon." My eyes are starting to see red. He's pushing it. "Oh come on Y/n, you know I say that in respect." His smirks dies down a notch, I guess when he sees me clutching the chair's arm rests until my knuckles turn white. "We are not here to discuss Garnet's and my marriage, nor honeymoon. We are here to make things right." I say through gritted teeth.
He sighs, "I know, but I just wanted to make small talk to you before our big talk. We don't talk much anymore." Jeez, I wonder why? My death grip loosens on the poor chair and I lean forward, meeting his gaze, "I didn't come for small talk, I came for business only. So let's make this quick, I have a wife and in - laws to go home with." He holds his hands up in playful surrender, "Alright, let's get down to it."
~Garnet's POV~
"Here you go Garnet." Ruth hands me a bottle of water and I take it with a small sigh, "Thank you." She takes a seat beside me on the gray couch and sips on her tea. Pearl, Steven, and Amethyst, alongside Lion is outside doing who knows what, while Ruth and I stay inside just in case something goes wrong. I wanted the gems to keep Steven and themselves included out of harm's way because I don't even know what the outcome of Bill and Y/n's talk is going to be. "So..." Ruth breaks the awkward silence, "What are you and Y/n going to do next?" I cock a brow and look at her, "What do you mean?" She takes another sip of her tea before she answers me, "I mean, you and Y/n are married now, what are you two going to do next? Have kids?" Okay, we did not see that question coming, "Um, yes, we've talked about it during our honeymoon," I adjust my visors, "but not right now." She snickers against her cup, "Yeah, that's smart. I kind of wish that Brie and I would've waited a little longer with Clyde, but we just couldn't keep our hands off each other."
I smile a little at her honesty, "That sounds like Y/n and I every time we're alone." She smiles at me, "That sounds like him/her. He/she has always been an active person all his/her life. I could imagine how y'alls kids are going to be." Her lips finds her cup again. I can't help but smile a little more, but curiosity makes my smile drop, "Ruth, can I ask you a personal question about you, Brie, and your children?" She readjusts her position in her seat, "Sure, what is it?" This is gonna be a little awkward. I take in a decent size breath, "How did you two have Clyde? And how did he come out with your exact same gem?" Y/n and I was meaning to ask the last time we was here, but we didn't have the chance to for obvious reasons.
She looks at me with a smirk, "I thought that you'd never ask." After finishing off her tea, she carefully sets the white China cup on its matching saucer counterpart. "Well, as you can tell, Brie and I are both women." "Obviously." "Ruby, let her finish." I adjust my visors, "Yes, go on." She smiles, "And I have a gem, but where I am just half gem and half wolf, I can shapeshift into my wolf form from my dad's side and change my sex because of my mom's side at the same time." I think I know where this is going. "So, when Brie and I wanted to have Clyde, I changed into my wolf state and changed my sex into a man, so we could conceive Clyde." "But what about your gem? When Steven was born, Rose had to give up her physical form to create him." We both frown at that, but then she meets my gaze again, "Well, you see, Rose was a hundred percent gem and that's why when she had Steven she left her gem to him. She had to. But when it comes to Y/n and I, we can remain here, along with our offspring, with both or all having our own separate gems." My mouth drops a little, "That's fascinating." She nods with a smile, "It is, but its exhausting." I raise a brow, "How?" She sighs, "Well, you see, when all is done with the conceiving and after the nine months is done and when the child is ready to be born, a part of my, or in this case Y/n's gem goes to the child in a shard." She reveals her gem to me and she points at the tiniest little chip I've ever seen, but then she covers it. "And it hurts like a mother too. Our gem shard goes to the child wherever the shard decides to land on their body and glows, forming the new gem, but when it does, all of our energy drains from us for a little while, but then it comes back and we're fine again. But Brie decided that our next one is coming to us by a surrogate because of how bad I felt after the process was done, which I didn't mind at all."
I give her a weak smile after she gets done explaining the supernatural birds and bees talk to me and thank her, "Thanks for the talk Ruth. That information is very important to us." She smiles and pats my shoulder, "No problem. Glad I could help. I'm excited to have more cousins." I chuckle at that, "We'll be sure to inform you when you do." Now she chuckles, "Thanks." She's about to open her mouth, but before she can speak a word we hear a collision upstairs. The others must've heard it too because they all come rushing in the living room, weapons in hand. "What was that?!" Pearl asks. "I don't know!" I'm up on my feet alongside with Ruth. I summon my weapons and look at the beige ceiling above, then I look through the window. Its pitch black outside and the moon is coming out. Oh no. I look back to the others, "Its Bill! I think he's-" A howl echoes through the house and we all go quiet for a moment. I look back at Ruth and she's starring at me in a worriedly shock expression, "He changed."
