Ch.18

           The next day I wake up next to the most beautiful woman in the universe after having the most beautifullest  night with her. She's snuggled up against my chest and is sleeping peacefully. With her eyes closed and body relaxed, it seems that she doesn't have a worry in the world.
           I don't want to get up, but after the night we had, I want and need to take a shower. Now the struggle begins. I don't want to wake her up, so I have to sneak out of bed. Carefully, I lift up her arm and put it down gently beside her. Next, I have to carefully replace me with my pillow. I gently hold up her head, grab the pillow, and  I place it under her. Yes!
         After I get out of bed, I put on my old clothes, grab some new fresh ones and head towards the shower. When I leave my room, I see its about four, and I see Amethyst sitting on the counter with a smirk. "How did you sleep y/n?" "You know what Ame, shut up." My light limp makes her laugh and I head to the bathroom.
         When I get into the shower, I let the cold water trinkle on me. Goosebumps cover me, but I don't want to use the hot water. My body begs for some heat, but I'm kind of sore, so I refuse the temptation. Instead, I start singing one of my favorite songs while I wash my hair and body.

      "Woo! You go y/n! Steven's sudden outburst makes me jump and almost slip. " Steven! What are you doing in here! I'm taking a shower!" I yell at him. "Well I just came in here to get my comb, but then I heard you singing, so I decided to stay and listen to the concert." I pull back the curtain to look at him, "Okay, now you heard it now leave!" "Wait! Before I go, you should come with me today to visit the cool kids, Buck Dewey, Jenny, and Sourcream. They have a band and is always looking for a new member." I growl at him, "Grr... No Steven, I can't. I can't sing." A piece of a flashback of my father beating me come in my head. "Plus, they're humans! They might think I'm a freak!"
        Steven continues to convince me to go. "No they won't. I'm half human and I don't think you're a freak. Plus, you're an amazing singer!" He gives me his starry puppy dog eyes and I can't say no. "Ugh... If I agree, will you please leave?" "Yes!" This kid drives a hard bargain, "Fine... I'll go, but don't tell Garnet." "Okay!" He jumps for joy and rushes out of the bathroom with comb in hand. I pull back the shower curtain and sigh, "Finally."
               
                ~10 minutes later~
       I walk out of the bathroom clean and fresh. "Ahh. I feel better." Pearl is preparing dinner by unthawing some steaks. My stomach starts to growl at the sight of the bloody meat and I can't control myself, I have to go over and ask if I can have one. "Hey Pearl, whatcha cookin'?" "Oh hey y/n, I'm just getting ready to fry some steaks and cook some vegetables and Mac n' Cheese. What are you doing?" "Oh, nothing. I'm about to go out with Steven to go and meet up with the cool kids." My mouth begins to water slightly at the sight of the raw and juicy meat.
            It doesn't take long for my stomach to speak up for me while I'm in my trance. "Um, hey Pearl, can I have one of those?" I point at the pack of meat. "Um, do you want one raw?" She gives out a confused and slightly disgusted look, "Yes please." "Sure, okay." She takes out a knife and cuts the pack open and I grab one. "Thanks Pearl." I extend my fangs and I bite down into the bloody meat. The sweet taste of iron and metallic fills my taste buds' desire quickly and I basically inhale the entire steak.
        "Oh man! That was delicious." I lick my fingers and wipe my mouth with a paper towel. I glance over to Pearl with my peripheral vision and see her in shock, but when I look at her directly she clasps her hands in front of her and just smiles.
        "Thanks Pearl." I retract my fangs and I return her with a smile of my own. "Anytime y/n." "Ready to go y/n?" Steven asks coming out of the bathroom, "Yeah Steven, but what about the Sun?" I point out the window with my thumb, "Don't worry y/n, I got you covered literally." He digs into his stair closet and pulls out this huge black umbrella. I just look at him in shock and impressment, "I bought it just for you, now you can come and walk in the Sun with us."
       I don't even try to hold myself back, I rush over to him and give him a great big hug. "Thank you so much Steven! This is the best thing anyone has ever gotten me!" He melts into my hug, "You're welcome y/n. Now let's go!" He rushes over to the door and opens the umbrella open outside for me, and I can't help but smile to the Moon and back. "Okay! Let's go!" I run over to him and under the umbrella and we leave.
