The next morning, Dec woke up tired and groggy. He squinted his eyes around and found the other bed empty. Ant had woken up and left. Dec look at the blanket around him and frown thinking when did he wrap it as the last thing he thought before falling asleep was to seek comfort from the cold which he was too tired to do. He notes that the windows are closed and the fan is at low speed. Ant?!!. He felt himself a stupid for thinking so. No way ... why would he? And why do I want that boy to care for me?! He is not THAT important.

Dec sighed and looked at his alarm clock to find that it's too early. Where did Ant go so early?! Well, why should I care

Dec got up slowly, got fresh and dressed taking all the time he has. He could hear the morning chirping of birds and as he opened the windows, cool breeze stuck his face. No one else was awake and he felt a yearning to get out. He put on his hooded sweatshirt and walked to the terrace. The view was breathtaking and beyond amazing. The building was too tall that he could see every bit of the city, magically bordered by green countrysides. He felt that view familiar... he had seen it before... but where?

And the answer to his question was sitting cross-legged on the floor, at the far end of the terrace, scribbling various strokes in his drawing sheet. Dec felt an odd sense of admiration to the taller lad, sitting on the floor, his forehead cringed in concentration, the muscular arms pulsing with every stroke on the paper.

Dec thought about walking to him but he knew that would be just disturbing the peace Ant is so concerned about right now. He was about to turn around when a pigeon fluttered past his shoulder and another sat on his hoodie. He looked around to see a flock of them. "Ohh shit!!! " he screeched, prompting the other human soul to jump up in shock "What the fuck?!" Ant snapped and his jaw fell to the floor seeing a trembling Declan trying hard to disappear into the wall behind him, eyeing the pigeons around him in horror. Ant sighed and packed his work, and walked to the smaller boy, shooing the pigeons as he went.

He reaches Dec who visibly relaxes at the absence of birds and pin him with a hard glare "What are you doing here?!!"

Dec: "Woke up early..so thought I will just look around but bloody pigeons man"

Dec didn't know from where he got the courage to talk like that to Ant.. and nor did Ant. He flinched at the audacity of his roommate but retorted "Why did you come up if you are afraid of them?! " He then moves threateningly close to Dec "Is that why you came up? to look around?!"

Dec remained unfazed at that question and replied innocently "Yeah.. what else?!" Dec looked around to see what he was missing

Ant looked at Dec's eyes to see the lie in there but all he could see were the glinting blue-green orbs, shielding nothing. Ant just backed, looked around and walked away. A hoot was heard above Dec and without another thought, Dec too sprinted out of there.

As he reached the elevator Ant was already in and before it could close, Dec slides in, much to Ant's annoyance. The tension between the duo increase and Ant felt a hard urge to snap at the smaller boy who ruined his morning.

Ant walked swiftly into their room and took his clothes and went to the shower. Dec knew that's the end of their exchanges that day. It was still early in the morning and Dec made himself comfortable in the window sill, a book in his hand. As he started reading it with disinterest as it was too complex for his taste, Ant came out from the shower. He just looked at the boy on the window still at amusement and then proceeded to get ready for college, which basically involved applying lots of after-shaves and spraying lots of cologne. As the smell filled the air, Dec's sense spiked. His eyes occasionally shifted to the taller lad, curious to know what he does every morning. After styling his short hair, Ant swipe through his phone put it in his pocket and take his backpack.
