*Trigger Warning*
The evening progressed to midnight with them all drinking and chatting and watching telly. By the time they had to retreat to their beds, Dermott and Ant were the only ones who were less "worn out". Eomenn and Martin were soon asleep, and Dermott had to drag his brothers to Martin's room. While Ant half carried and half dragged a slurring Dec to Dec's room.
Dermot: " Tomorrow is going to be no fun"
Ant rolls his eyes at that to which Dermott laughs "Good night Anthony"
Ant: "Goodnight"
Dec clung on to Ant while they ascended the stairs and Ant had to hold the rails so that they won't fall down as Dec was soon becoming dead weight in his arms.
Dec: "Anth... Careful" he slurred
Ant: "Well, be cooperative for a moment so that I can be careful"
Dec: "No, careful...of love..."
Ant flinched at that. They reached the top floor and Dec looks at him with dreamy eyes "Can we go to the roof, and watch the stars?"
Ant: "Tomorrow Dec, now we need to sleep come on"
Dec: "You didn't drink much!" Dec protested
Ant: "No. But you did!"
Dec: "Why didn't you drink? There is no Andrew here..."
Ant sighs realising how straight and forthcoming Dec can be when he is drunk. But he is right. Even if he trusted Dec, in a place which is all new to him, he was just being careful. He has become careful since that night with Andrew.
Dec: "Oh you are thinking something...I can see the lines on your forehead..."
Ant: "Dec, let's get in"
Dec: "Stars?" Dec looks pleadingly.
Ant: "Let's open the windows"
Dec shakes his head "Please..."
Tears well up in his eyes and Ant sighs "Okay... But we will get down soon..okay?"
Dec nods and grins "O-kay.."
They walk to the roof, Dec wobbling slightly.
Ant: "I am regretting this decision already"
Dec giggles and sits heavily down the floor. Ant sits beside him.
Dec: "Anth...look- that big guy!!"
Ant looks to where Dec is pointing to see a constellation in the sky.
Ant: "Oh you remember"
Dec: "Yeah. It's beautiful"
Ant smiles and slowly becomes aware of Dec's head on his shoulder. Ant has realised that Dec has this tendency to lean on him at times, either for comfort or as a way to balance.
Ant: "I think you are falling asleep"Dec: "n-nho. I am just doing the thinking thing"
Ant: "Thinking thing?"
Dec: "Hmm... I am thinking"
Ant: "About what?"
Dec: "Life...my life"
Ant chuckles at that "What about your life"
