I hated seeing dad like this. All he did was laying in bed and listening to music. I still haven't told him about the test that Emily took. He didn't notice that his hairbrush went missing. It wasn't fair but I hoped the results would make everything clear.
- Hey, I just came to see how you're doing.
- I know, you do it everyday, Josh. Thanks for the care, but you don't have to check on me, I'm fine.
- I'm just worried...
- I know. I won't shoot up. I hate heroin. Seriously, I promised to never do that again. I don't want my grandson to see me strung out.
- And your baby?
- What are you talking about?
- You can't be sure it is not yours if you haven't seen the doctor in the last 10 years.
- Are you taking her side?
- No, I'm just being the voice of reason.
- Josh, I don't want to be rude but maybe you should take care of Johnny now, take him outside or to the playground...
- Dad, come on. Stop acting like a prick. Let's go to the clinic, the examination will only take a couple of minutes and you will get the results in mail.
- Wait, how do you know that?
- I have been there and set up an appointment for you.
- No, you haven't.
- Yes, I have. Come on, listen to me. Everything will be clear in a couple of weeks. Just listen to me.
- I don't want to go anywhere.
- John Anthony Frusciante. You're an adult and you're afraid of giving a doctor a sample of your sperm?
- It's just not necessary. I did it once.
- And you should do it one more time. We can go to a music store on our way home. Or have lunch in your favourite restaurant. Or maybe you would like to go to the cinema?
- Josh, I've got an idea. The Rolling Stones are playing a concert tonight in Las Vegas. Would you go with me?
- If you go to the clinic, I promise to talk to Lilly. I hope she will let me go.
- Then don't waste any more time. I'm going to the clinic and you go and ask your wife. It will be the best weekend of our lives. My good friend Johnny Depp called me yesterday asking if I would go. I almost forgot about it!
- Dad, stop fangirling and promise me you'll do the test.
- I ain't fangirling!
- It's not what I wanted to hear.
- Yeah, yeah, I'll do that. Just give me the address.
*
- I can't believe she let me go.
- I told you she's the best wife ever. I wish I had a woman like this.
- Emily would do everything for you.
- Do you really believe that it can be my child?
- Well, there's always a chance. What did the doctor tell you?
- That it might be possible that my testicles have started to produce spermatozoons again due to some changes in my lifestyle.
- You see? Maybe Em didn't cheat on you and you just acted like an asshole. What changes did you do? Oh, you quit smoking!
