The following day I got up pretty early and called Lilly telling her that I'd want to spend some time with our son. Luckily she agreed. At 11 AM I was already home with Johnny. He was chasing me around the house when he fell and hit his head.

- Oh my gosh, baby! Daddy's gonna kiss your head and it will stop hurting, I promise.

I told him and gave him a kiss. He wrapped his arms around my neck and cuddled into me. It took him a couple of minutes to calm down. Whenever I tried to put him down, he started crying again.
When a doorbell rang, I was sure it was Maggie, so with Johnny in my arms I went downstairs and opened the door.

- Oh, hello, Mrs Hill.

I said. I was shocked.

- Hi, Josh. I wanted to give you Maggie's insurance papers and her medical history, just in case.

She told me but the whole time she was looking at Johnny. He smiled to her and reached out to her.

- Can I?

Christine asked. She wanted to hold him.

- Sure.

I replied and handed her my baby.

- What's your name, pretty boy? You're so cute.

She asked.

- His name is John.

I told her and faked a smile. I felt so uncomfortable. I knew she probably already figured out I was the father of this baby.

- Well, that's a beautiful name. I have a daughter named Ma...

Christine started to say when Johnny's scream interrupted her.

- Maggie! Daddy love Maggie!

My cheeks were on fire. I quickly took John from her arms and looked at my feet.

- Daddy. So he's your son...

Mrs Hill told me.

- Yeah, he's mine. I'm so embarrassed, ma'am, I should have told you...

I said and I felt my cheeks flush even more.

- No, you didn't have to tell me anything, it's your private life and you have to right to tell me only what you're comfortable with. How old is he?

Mrs Hill asked.

- He'll be 3 in December.

- A big boy. Why don't you step by for lunch? I baked muffins. Do you like muffins, John?

- Yes!

He responded. I smiled to my baby. He understood every word we said. He was indeed a big boy now.

- Well, I think he's decided. Just let me put on my shoes.

I told Christine and grabbed the papers she brought.

- Maggie, we've got guests, honey!

Christine shouted as we entered her house. I was carrying Johnny in my arms.
Mag slowly walked down the stairs and I could see pure shock on her face when she saw me.

- Oh my God, mom, you know! It was my idea not to tell you about Johnny...

Magdalene said and she ran up to us.

- Maggie! Maggie!

John shouted. Mag hugged him and gave him a kiss on the head.

- He's such a lovely boy, isn't he?
