13. My tendency for dependency is offending me

It was half a year after those tragic events and I finally managed to get myself together.
I formed my own band and was in the middle of making our debut record.
I've changed my style. I've let my hair grow a bit and I had it cut asymmetrically. Now my bangs were covering my face. I was wearing loose shirts, hoodies and baggy sweatpants again. No more buttoned up shirts.
I had been dating this girl named Lilly for a month. She was very sweet and caring. Even though I couldn't talk to her about my music, I was really happy with her. She was working in a restaurant near my condo, so we spent most of the nights together at my place.

I was still asleep when suddenly I heard my cellphone ringing. I've slowly opened my eyes and rolled out of bed. I've put my boxers on and quickly went to the living room, so that I wouldn't wake Lilly up.

"I'm not in a mood for jokes, Flea. I don't care about John anymore, ok? It's been a few months and I'm over it."

"I'm dead serious, Josh. John officially quit the band today. And this time he said it's for good. What are we going to do now? We're over..."

"Calm down Flea, don't cry. How did Anthony take it?"

"Even worse than me. He's been drinking since 8 in the morning."

"I'm sure you'll find a great guitarist. The Chilli's have many talented fans!"

"Yeah, just like you. You are our only hope Josh, that's what Anthony said, right after he heard John's statement."

"No way. I'm not doing this."

"Josh, please, let's meet at my house at 8. I'll make sure that Chad and Anthony appear."

"Fine. But don't expect anything from me."

I went back to bed and saw that Lilly wasn't asleep anymore.

- What happened baby? I've heard you arguing.

- Oh, it was nothing, a friend of mine called to ask me something.

- And it made you so mad?

- Yeah. You see, it's a long story. It doesn't matter. Let's go back to sleep.

- I need to go to work soon. I wish I could cuddle with you all day.

- Me too, Lilly. I love you.

I've kissed her lips and she wrapped her hands around my neck.

- Josh, I really need to go now.

I've been moving my hand around her beautiful, pale body, not letting her get up.

- Ok, I've got five more minutes. You need to be quick baby.

I smiled and positioned myself between her thighs.

I stopped my car in front of Flea's house and a second later Anthony parked his motorbike next to me.

- Hey kiddo. You've grown up since the last time I saw you.

He said, barely standing up.

- Why did you drive? You're so drunk Anthony, you should have taken a taxi.

- I didn't want to be late, I needed to see you. You know why I'm so wrecked, right?

- Yes, but you need to know that I'm not going to help you.

- But Josh...

- I'm busy with my own band. I don't wanna have anything in common with that fucker, ok?
