My grandparents had to go back to New York. Emily's mom also left. I was sad because I loved having my family next to me. I spent long hours talking to John and Gail.
Hope's been doing amazing. She was constantly smiling and her brown eyes were shining. Her curly hair was getting longer. She was so cute.

I finally managed to make dad come into the recording studio with me. I knew that it was the only place where we could be alone.

- Sorry I made you get away from Em and your little girl but I need your help.

- That's fine, I'm there for you. What is it, Josh?

He asked, sitting in a chair and lighting his cigarette.

- Something's off with Lilly. She's been avoiding me. I got drunk once soon after Hope was born and it made her mad, but other than that, I did nothing wrong. We didn't have sex for ages. And she didn't even want it. I'm getting desperate. I don't know what's wrong.

- Have you tried to talk to her?

- God knows how many times. She always tells me that everything's fine.

- Well, I'd have to ask Emily. She's her best friend.

- Thanks. I hope she can keep it a secret. I don't want her to tell Lilly that I've been talking to you about our problems. She's always overreacting.

- Sure, I'll talk to her as soon as possible.

I took a drag of my cigarette and slowly exhaled the smoke.

- How is being a father like?

I asked.

- It's amazing. I feel 20 years younger.

- But you look 10 years older. You need to get a proper sleep. And you need to get out of the house. Maybe invite Emily on a date or something? I can look after my sister.

- Are you serious? I mean, I'd love to, but she's so small. I don't know if we should leave her alone...

- She won't be alone. I know how to take care of a kid. Come on, ask Emily out.

- Fine. When are you free?

- Every day, even tonight.

- Tonight? That sounds like a plan.

I smiled to dad watched him walk out of the basement.
I've recorded a couple of tracks and went upstairs as well.

- Josh, I love you! You're the best!

Emily said, throwing herself into my arms.

- Aww, stop it, Lilly will get jealous!

I responded and hugged Em.

- Me? No way.

Lilly said and left the living room.

- Has John talked to you about, um...

I whispered to Em.

- Yes, he has. But I have no clue why she's like that. I wish I could help you.

- That's fine, I'll have to figure it out. Go prepare yourself. Be sure to wear some cute underwear. John's gonna be horny.

I told her and she started giggling.

- Hey, stop flirting with my fiancée!

John joked as he entered the room with Hope in his arms.
