I ended up spending the following night on the couch, because Emily and Lilly fell asleep in our bed.
I wasn't mad. They were best friends and they didn't see each other for quite a long time. I started preparing breakfast for all of us when Em went downstairs.

- Good morning.

I shouted.

- Hey Josh, what are you making? It smells great.

- Just scrambled eggs and toasts.

We had breakfast together and then Emily decided to go home. A minute after she closed the door, there was a knock. I was sure she forgot to take something.

I opened it and my heart stopped. It was Kate.

- Josh!

She squeaked and threw her arms around my neck. I quickly shook her off.

- What are you even doing here? How do you know my address?

I whispered.

- Found it on the internet. Aren't you happy to see me? Why weren't you answering my calls?

- Because I don't want to talk to you. You should go now.

- I'm not gonna go anywhere. I'm missing you so badly. I flew here all the way from New York!

Suddenly I felt a breath on my neck. It was Lilly. Fuck.

- Who are you?

She asked.

- I'm Kate. And who are you?

- I'm Josh's wife. How do you know him and why are you here?

- Wife? I thought you were divorced!

I felt like I was going to get a great attack.

- I told you how I love my wife. Now go. I don't want to have anything to do with you anymore.

I said and embraced Lilly with my shoulder.

Kate started to cry.

- Josh, what's going on? Can you explain it to me?

- Um, she's a fan, I met her in New York. We exchanged a few texts. I think she got too involved.

- You bastard! Don't you remember what you said when I was sucking your dick?

I froze. I looked at Lilly with my mouth wide open. She's clenched her fists.

- You fucking whore! Don't you dare to talk to my husband like that! Get the fuck out of this property or I'll call the police! I don't want to see you anymore! If I spot you somewhere near him, I'll kill you!

Lilly shouted and shut the door. She was furious. Tears were running down her cheeks.

- Honey...

- Give me some time to think it through, ok?

She said, now with a calmer voice.

She went upstairs and I've decided to go out. I went to the gym, hoping exercising would calm me down.
I was lifting weights and couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. What if she wouldn't forgive me...

I hesitated before going inside my house. When I finally found the courage to do so, I saw that there was food on the table. 2 plates full of pasta and 2 glasses of wine.

- Lilly...

I said and spotted her in the kitchen.

- Yes?
