The Truth Unfolds

Dev and Aahana have thrown themselves at their parent's feet, their hearts filled with hope.
They do not know that everything that happened including their conversation was heard and witnessed by their parents.
Their parents had rushed to the spot as they could no longer bear to see this state of their children and felt more torn when they both their children were at their feet begging for their lives.
They asked them to get up taking them in a comforting hug.
Dev and Aahana were made to sit down and drink water as they were hysterical by now. After both were in a sober condition they were told by their parents that they in for some good news but before that there is something they as parents have to do ie, give them an explanation for being so unreasonable with their own flesh and blood.
So, here goes their parents side of the story
"Children your grandparents just like us were best of friends. Yes, we all were living in Kolkata at one point in time but then the Agarwal's had to shift to Mumbai due to the emerging business of real estate in the city and we Singhanias didn't want to leave Kolkata deciding to stay here.
It was in Mumbai that Aryan got married to Riddhi and soon was pregnant with Dev.
Here, Snighda too was pregnant with Rudra and Aahana(Aahana and Rudra are twins, Aahana being elder by some minutes)and our parents happiness knew no bounds.
We were one big happy family. Little did we realize the cruel fate that was waiting for us at the other end and which would have shattered us completely hadn't it been for you all my children.
Rishi Agarwal, Dev's grandfather had succumbed to an infectious disease and when Dhiram Singhania( Rudra and Aahana's grandfather) came to know that his friend is no more lost control over his car which met with an accident and he died on the spot.
Our children, when both our wives were expecting our fathers to strengthen their friendship further had made us promise that our children will get married into each other's family".
* The doctors who were responsible for a smooth pregnancy knew both the families well and had told the sex of the child knowing very well that this secret was in safe hands*

" With time we had forgotten about the promise made then but seeing our father's bodies in front of us made us remember the promise we had made and decided to honour it as their last wish. Children please don't be harsh on us. Sometimes parents also make mistakes and we did too. Our mistake was that when you both had come to talk to us about it rather confess your love for each other to us we didn't bother to listen. We also didn't realize that GOD had given us many chances to know the truth later on also in many ways and we chose to ignore it each time by choosing not to talk about it. But,now what has happened has happened. Now no more crying".

After hearing their parents confession the room was filled with squeals of laughter and an air of happiness.
Yes, the Agarwal's and the Singhania's were soon going to be one big happy family again.
