The weekends were over giving way to Monday also called Monday morning blues which many working officials faced after the weekends and this time around Dev and Rudra were feeling it too trying to come up with one really good reason to avoid going to work for just one more day as Snigdha was in the city for just two more days and both wanted to spend time with her. Snigdha too wanted Rudra and Dev to stay back but, she knew that work cannot be neglected for any reason and they can enjoy together in the evenings. She wished them both goodbye till evening heading straight to her daughter's room after seeing their retreating figures.
Aahana who was busy tidying up her room didn't notice her mother and she not wanting to keep Aahana from doing her work sat at one end of the bed. Snigdha was happy to see her daughter happy in her house where everyone loved and accepted her just as she is and a lone tear escaped her eye. Aahana who had finished tidying up the room noticed her mother crying, went up to her and wiped the tear from her cheek. This gesture made an unaware Snigdha jolt a little and she then took her daughter's hands in her making her sit down.
The room for a few minutes was so silent that if a pin was to fall its sound would echo in the room but, this was short lived for soon sounds of loud laughter could be heard which made Riddhi come to check what the reason might be and left soon after not wanting to disturb them. Aahana was talking to her mother just like she would before marriage laughing at the smallest of things,talking about just anything under the sun without caring about her surroundings or what people might think(True that no matter what the situation be or where life may take you the bond you share with your mother remains the same). The mother daughter duo were so engrossed in their talks that they didn't realize that Riddhi was standing outside the room since quite a few minutes asking them to come down for lunch and they decided to continue with their talks post lunch. Aahana was surprised to see that four plates had been laid out instead of three and thought of asking her mom ie, Riddhi about the fourth plate when the doorbell rang as if on cue and seeing the person for whom the fourth plate had been laid out for brought a smile on her face though she was trying to fake anger on being left out for everyone knew about this person who would be joining them for lunch and who had taken the rest of the day off from office. Yes, this person was none other than Dev and even her mother knew about it, her fake anger now vanished seeing the look in his eyes.
The four had their lunch in silence. Dev then told both the ladies that he would be taking his beautiful wife out in the evening and also that they would be coming home late. He then took Aahana to their room and handed her a packet but asked her not to open it before evening. Now this was making Aahana curious and she decided to slip her hands inside the packet to guess its contents by just feeling whatever it held. Well, what appeared to her was that all the contents were gift wrapped and this was increasing her curiosity levels but, for her husband's happiness decided to wait till the evening and just a few hours were left.
Soon, evening came and without wasting a minute Aahana tore open the gifts and found a handwritten note which made her smile.
