Healing Her Broken Heart

All worried for Dev

The day has finally come when Dev will be with his family and he was excited that after what seemed like ages he would be with his wife again. Meanwhile in Mumbai Aahana was anxiously waiting for his arrival along with Aryan and Riddhi.
Aahana had her eyes fixed on the door just waiting for it to open and show her the face of the only person she so badly wanted to see.
However, she was met with disappointment each time and was now starting to panic. Riddhi and Aryan too were now worried for Dev by now should have been at home as his jet had landed long back. Riddhi then told that he might be late due to the heavy traffic this time of the year as it's the monsoon season in the city and there's commotion in the city with traffic snarls being the biggest enemy of Mumbaikars and then told Aahana that it's not good for her to stay up late. Aahana agreed with Riddhi after a lot of effort from her end.

Riddhi however decided to wait for her son in the living room along with her husband. They waited for a long time and the clock's ticking increased Riddhi's tension. She didn't want to show this in front of Aahana but now she herself was hyperventilating with all negative thoughts making their way into her mind and no matter how much she tried to block the voices they just seemed to be increasing by the minute. Her motherly instinct which by now had taken full control over her senses was telling her that something bad has happened. She was trying to reach Dev only to hear the recording saying the number is not reachable and she prayed to God to keep her son safe. Soon she dozed off on the sofa itself only to be shaken from her sleep by Aryan early the next morning. Riddhi immediately was fully awake and asked Aryan if he has any news about their son though the look on her husband's face told her a different story. However, what she came to know was enough to make her whole world fall apart not knowing what to do or how to react. Her son, who was the twinkle of her eyes was admitted in the hospital fighting for life. She couldn't control herself from breaking down and in between her sobs she was telling her husband as if trying to find answers to her questions through her husband. "Why Aryan why couldn't it have been me instead of our Dev. Why now when he was about to start his family. If God wanted to take him away from them why did he bring Aahana in their lives. What has she done to meet this fate and what about their unborn children. What will happen now Aryan?"
" Please tell me Aryan. I do not want anything except for my son to come back to me, to his children, to his wife and to you. Please bring my son back". Aryan who had no answers to his wife's questions and who was equally shattered was unable to control himself but knew that he has to take care of two female in his lives both equally important to him. Managing to speak somehow though with a choked voice he told his wife that she has to get a hold on herself for the sake of their daughter who is going to give birth to their grandchildren. He also told her that they somehow have to hide this news from Aahana fearing she might not be able to bear it.
Aryan also told Riddhi that together they have to put up a great show of hiding their true feelings from Aahana. Hearing all this from her husband Riddhi knew that her husband was right. She wiped her tears and trying to smile nodded in agreement but, broke down crying in her husband's arms. After a few minutes she decided to check on Aahana managing to get up from the floor with Aryan's support and together they decided to go to her room when a loud voice echoed through the house. The voice they recognized too well, the voice which was none other Aahana's. It was now clear that she had heard everything while coming down and since the news was too much for her she fainted due to shock and came rolling down. Aryan and Riddhi tried to save this fall of hers but were late and the damage had been done. Riddhi immediately told Aryan to bring the car to the front porch asking the servants to help her in carrying Aahana till the car. Once Aahana was seated she told Aryan to take them to the nearest hospital as quickly as possible. Soon, they reached the hospital and she immediately asked for a doctor to check Aahana.
The doctor after examining Aahana thoroughly told Aryan and Riddhi that he's sorry for the babies couldn't be saved as the mother had lost too much blood. Saying this the doctor walked away leaving behind a shattered Aryan and Riddhi. Aryan knew he needed to act wisely and calmly though from inside he felt as if someone had knocked the life out of him and decided to call his friends for he suddenly realized that they were oblivious to the cruel game life had decided to play with them. He also realized that Rudra also might not be aware of all the incidents and decided to call him first. Rudra on hearing this asked Aryan which hospital they were in rushing there immediately.
Aryan in the meantime thought of informing
Sanjeev and Snighda and needless to say they reacted in the same manner as Aryan and Riddhi. Sanjeev was the first to react and told Aryan that they are coming by the first flight. Aryan could manage to say either a yes or an ok in answer.
They decided to stay at the hospital with Aahana. Riddhi couldn't understand what she would tell Aahana. She prayed to God to give her the strength to break the news about her kids to Aahana who had not even come out from shock on hearing about her husband's accident would now have to bear the news of her having lost her babies.
She was angry at life for being so cruel to her children wanting to ask what wrong did they do to meet this fate and broke down crying to pass out minutes after.
