Healing Her Broken Heart

Dev's efforts to make Aahana normal

Each morning brings new life and hope in the world as the saying goes and which in this case is true to the core for finally the happiness,dream and hope  both families had wanted would soon be a reality now as the miracle that was needed was finally here. Yes indeed for God had decided to make Dev normal as no one other than him was fit for the job which in this case was making Aahana normal again. They knew this wasn't going to be an easy one but, the impossible has to be made into a possible and Dev was the best man for it.
Sticking to his promise which he had made the previous night Dev appeared in front of Aahana. With one hand he was wheeling the food trollet and the other hand had medicines that Aahana had to take after breakfast. Riddhi had explained everything in details to her son making sure not to miss out on anything. Dev told her to relax as he was here and would leave no stone unturned in this mission. He also told her that at some point he might have to say or do things which might not be acceptable to her or to any other member of the family but, he would have to carry it out in case the need be and in this case they would just need to trust him by being silent spectators.
Dev couldn't stand to see his wife in this condition and was completely heartbroken though determined to bring her out from depression. He was awake all night reading articles on the net that would help him to cure her faster and was silently observing her; as a result the next morning his eyes were red(from crying) and he also had a slight headache but, deciding to ignore all he got down to the most important mission in his life ie, making his wife normal again. Coming back to the present he kept the plate of food down on the table along with the medicines then made his way towards the bed and tapped Aahana lightly on the shoulder so as to not scare her. He was prepared on getting any reaction from her but putting on a brave face and with a smile approached her and planted a kiss on her cheeks once near. He then called out to her lovingly gently making her get up from the bed guiding her thus, to the bathroom so that she could carry out her morning routine; his actions were carried out with utmost care and love making sure to do what he needed. Once he was sure that she was done with the morning routine he took her towards the table where all her favourite dishes were waiting to be devoured. He filled the plate with food and scoping a portion of it he took the spoon towards Aahana trying to make her open her mouth. After what seemed like hours he was successful in making her finish the whole breakfast and also managed to give her the medicines post which he laid her down on the bed so that she could rest for sometime. So busy was he in making sure that Aahana is well fed that he was unaware of being watched by none other than Riddhi, who was watching him silently eyes filled with tears of joy. Initially when Dev had told her to dismiss the nurse hired to look after Aahana, Riddhi was scared though she act upon what Dev had told her but,having witnessed the morning scene all her doubts and fears were now gone and a new hope filled the space.
The rest of the day went like this with Dev watching over Aahana like a hawk, tending to all her needs. In the evening when Aryan was home he too witnessed Dev’s attempts and was really proud of his son. Dev in the morning only had told his father that since Aahana was his priority from now on he would work from home only and Aryan had no problem with this decision that Dev had taken.
Aryan who used to come straight to Aahana's room in the evening just to see her was in the room watching his son in action and when Dev saw his parents watching him silently he choked up but greeted them with a smile. In return his parents hugged him and they exchanged knowing glances.
Life went on the same way for a week and they were still on square one with Aahana showing no signs of improvement whatsoever but, this didn't shatter Dev in fact he was becoming more determined on facing failure thinking of new ways to help him.
Days rolled into weeks and weeks into months but,they were still in the same position as before and nothing seemed to be working out. It seemed to Dev that they were plugged into a hole of darkness and hopelessness from which there was no escape not aware that brightness was waiting for him on the other end and once Dev came to know about it he was so happy that he literally started dancing.
Now, he just waited for the next day to put this plan in action.
