Healing Her Broken Heart

A worried Dev

Aahana and Dev are busy with their lives in their respective cities though they miss each other terribly & even talking to each other for hours is not enough(Well, who has understood matters of the heart).
It so happened one fateful day that both were neck deep in work and couldn't find any time to talk nor text.
Needless to say how much they were craving to just hear each others voice so much so that they were now getting frustrated and which was reaching new heights with each passing minute.
Luck though was in favour of Dev who soon got the news that he now has ample time before the next agenda and like a magnet attracts nails his heart just wanted to hear her sweet voice. He immediately dialled her number which went unanswered disappointing him. Nevertheless, he tried again but this time also he had to face disappointment and hoping to be third time lucky he tried again only to be greeted by the same fate.
Now he was really frustrated and texted her hopeful at least she will see and reply back but he had to face defeat again. He was now frantic what with all sorts of thoughts coming to mind. However, he decided not to jump to a conclusion and wait for the day. He was sure that she would call him at night and he would then ask her the reason for her not calling back or replying to his messages though he kept on thinking about her.
The office clock soon announced end of office hours and Dev without wasting a minute immediately pranced on this exciting the office premises real swiftly as if a crisis had risen. Well, it was true in this case for not speaking to your beloved when in love is nothing short from one.
He was driving like a maniac and soon reached home immediately rushing to his room to try his luck again. His happiness knew no bounds when he heard his mobile ring with her name flashing on the screen and needless to say one that he picked up so quickly as if his life depended on this very call.
He had enough of her behaviour and decided that he will make her realize his condition. Thus, he tried to put all the pent up anger in his voice but all vanished as soon as he heard her voice and was now fixed in his tracks like a lovesick puppy.
Aahana thought that he is not saying anything out of anger and decided to take control of the conversation not wanting to waste any more time of the day. Their conversation is as follows:

" Jaan(Life) I know you are there though angry on me and I don't blame you. But, you have to understand that we have certain priorities that needs to be taken care of before our big day.
You have no idea how my day went with one work after the other. So many designs needed my approval before we could start making them. Handling the entire designing team is not easy and one has to be patient so as to pay attention to small details that might miss the naked eye with each item done immaculately. I did see your call and believe me was about to dial your number when dad called us all for an important meeting.
The meeting turned out to be one that drained all our energy and as it was almost closing time we decided to call it a day. Again I thought of calling you only to realize that the battery was dead.
Thus, left with no option I quickly reached home and no sooner had I put my cell on charge mom called me. Mom was all emotional and it took me time to pacify her after which I too got emotional. I will miss them terribly and here you are angry with me not willing to talk".
Saying this she started crying and this was it. Dev couldn't hear her crying knowing he had to do something and quickly. So here goes Dev's part

" Baby sorry I over reacted. Please forgive me. When you didn't call or reply I didn't know how to react and what to do. I was literally all over the place,prancing around aimlessly without any clue as to where you might be. My heart craved to hear your voice and what made my situation worse was when all sorts of thoughts started coming to mind creating a havoc.
Girl you have to understand that you and you alone can cure me and your melodious voice it gives me strength that lasts for the entire day.
You and you alone are my pain,my drug,my stress buster in short you have made me the person I am today.
This life that I am living is because of you. My parents and I owe you a favour cause you changed the old Dev into a new and better Dev and this gives my parents immense pleasure.
You are my reason to live,my heart beats just by your name and I dread the moment when something happens to you because that will be the end of me".
Having said all this he was crying hysterically and it took a lot of coaxing from Aahana's side to make him normal again.
Having made sure that he is now his normal self they decided to hit the bed as both had an eventful day and which had now taken a toll on them.
Thus, with a light heart they plonked on their beds and let sleep overtake them.
