Time from Pregnancy till Delivery

The news of Aahana being pregnant again had the same effect as rain gives from heat and this was what all wanted now ie, for them to have their own family. Aahana and Dev too wanted to have kids and were really happy that finally the moment had come. Riddhi made Aahana sit down on the sofa carefully and then in a serious tone which was addressed to all present said that though all are happy as their Aahana is pregnant again but, they have to be really cautious now than before so as to avoid history from being repeated again they should make sure that whatever mistake happened in the past is not repeated and all seemed to agree with her after which she told Dev to take Aahana to their room so she could rest for sometime but, Aahana wanted to be downstairs only to which Riddhi just smiled.
Soon, it was time for dinner and there was a smile on Aahana's face when she saw that all her favourite dishes had been prepared and all sat down for dinner each silently thanking God for sending happiness their way thus, with dinner now over Riddhi told Dev to take Aahana to their room and turning to Aahana told her that starting today she has to take care of herself more than she would as she has to take care of the life growing inside her also. Aahana assured Riddhi that she would take care of her child with her life as for her nothing but the safety of her child was her top priority too. Dev sensing Aahana might get emotional told her that she has to take the medicines prescribed too and they should now go to their room.

Minutes turned into hours,hours into days and soon Aahana was now a month pregnant. Riddhi had taken it upon herself to take care of Aahana not wanting to leave anything to chance and was by Aahana's side as soon as Dev left for work to remain with her till the time he comes back not leaving Aahana alone for a minute. This has now become a routine for Riddhi which she would follow without fail.
Aahana too was happy that Riddhi was there to look after her just like her own mother( She did miss her mother often wishing for her to come and stay with her) and that brought a smile on her face. Dev had told his mother everything the doctor had told him specially the medicines that Aahana needed to take so as to make sure that she takes her medicines on time simultaneously ensuring that Aahana receives proper care and nutrition.
Under the care of Riddhi time flew by swiftly, Aahana now three months pregnant found the mornings really testing all thanks to morning sickness. Dev would give her a glass of cold water to soothe her right after her morning sickness which helped her at least for a little while. He also made sure that Aahana eats properly post which he used to leave for office  and Riddhi would take her son's place till his return. The mother and daughter in law duo would spend the rest of the day enjoying each other's company which would be interrupted when it was time for Aahana to take her medicines or on days Aahana wanted to sleep during the afternoons.
Riddhi would take Aahana for regular check ups to the doctor and it was during one such visit that they came to know that Aahana just like the last time is pregnant with twins as shown in the sonography performed. Needless, to say that this made them really happy and Riddhi on the way back home told Aahana to stay in her room only and she would bring her lunch upstairs from today onwards. Aahana understood that her mother in law is doing nothing but taking care of her pregnant daughter in law and did what Riddhi asked her to do. Time it seemed had grown wings and Aahana would soon enter her sixth trimester which worried Riddhi for at times Aahana's mood swings were such which were hard to deal with making her wonder how  Dev would do it. She felt pity for her son but, also felt proud seeing him handle things in such a mature way.

Aahana's stomach was becoming bigger each month and she had now started to show all the signs of a pregnant lady. Dev was having a hard time handling her mood swings which were only increasing each month but, he never complained.She had successfully completed her fifth trimester and was about to enter her sixth month,her body changing every month. She would complain of pain in her legs and had difficulty in sleeping too specially during the night which didn't go unnoticed by Dev and he would be awake with her not caring that he has to work the next day.
Working the days at office and being awake most of the nights was taking its toll on Dev's health but, for him nothing else mattered apart from Aahana and her happiness.
Aahana was now into her sixth month and Dev had promised to be there with her always, not wanting to miss anything related to her pregnancy this time. They had even decided the names of their babies and now were just waiting to see their little angels. Dev hoped for daughters,but Aahana wanted sons and would often have a cute little tiff about the gender of their babies each sure that they were correct.
Dev would now come home early than usual to find his beautiful wife sleeping peacefully. Aahana would now get tired very easily and even the doctor had advised her complete bed rest for the remaining months.

Just two more months were left now and Dev had taken a maternity leave to be with his wife for the remaining days. It was during one such day of them talking that Aahana told Dev how she really missed her mother and wanted to see her,to be in her arms, to hear her voice and spend time with her like she used to before marriage but knew that it's not possible for her mother to leave Kolkata and come as there is no one to take care of dad given the fact that even Rudra is now in Mumbai. She also told him that it's wrong to think like this, to miss her mother so much fearing that she might be hurting his and her mother in law's feelings as she knew she wasn't alone in this.
Saying all this she dozed off in Dev's arms,her mood swing having gotten the better of her once again. In situations like these he would always talk her to sleep to catch up on some sleep till he could. Today however, after hearing his wife's wish he decided to call his mother in law the next day and ask her if she could come down to Mumbai to spend the last days of Aahana's pregnancy with them. The next day he without wasting time told Snigdha everything and she agreed. Dev told Aahana that her mother would be coming to stay with them and this made Aahana very happy.
(Snigdha was in Mumbai with her daughter and Aahana was really happy to see her mother).

Finally the day came when Aahana had to be taken to the hospital as she had started getting labour pains. The doctor who was already informed about the situation had prepared the operating room and as soon as they reached the hospital Aahana was taken to the operating room while all were waiting just outside the room. The wait was making them anxious and they were wondering what could have happened when the nurse came out carrying two babies wrapped in blankets and what she said next was enough to make them jump in joy but, had Dev choked up.
The nurse congratulated them and said that Aahana has given birth to a boy and a girl.
Now, there was a commotion as who would be the first one to take the babies on their arms when Dev said that being the father he should be given this honour first and all agreed. Dev then asked about Aahana and was relieved to hear that she was absolutely fine and would be shifted to the room soon. The nurse then took the babies from Dev who wasn't willing to part with his babies but, on being told by his mother that it's necessary he had to give in reluctantly.
Well, he would soon be with his babies and wife.
