The morning for Agarwals and Singhanias was a very special one for today was the mehendi ceremony.
As per custom both the bride and groom had to apply mehendi on their hands. Aahana was sitting in her room dressed for the function. She had opted for a red coloured suit and matching floral earrings, which are in vogue; looked the epitome of beauty not to forget the smile and the blush that was a reflection of Dev's love for her.
Snighda at the destined time came to her daughter's room to take her down for the mehendi function and on seeing her darling daughter's happy face Snighda's chest welled with happiness and silently prayed to God to always shower his blessings on her daughter and thus, encircling her daughter both proceeded towards the hall where the function was to take place. The hall which was abuzz with people talking or busy with some activity suddenly became so silent that to a stranger it would seem as if a storm had just passed the room. Well, the silence was owing to the fact that the bride had entered the hall and all present were awestruck seeing the sublime beauty that was Aahana.
Snighda very carefully guided her daughter to the part of the hall where two henna artists(professionals who know the art of applying bridal mehndi)were waiting for her and made her sit comfortably. Soon the artists got down to business, the whole room was once again alive with traditional and bollywood mehndi songs. Aahana's eyes all this while were searching the whole room for her two best friends Devika and Survika who on some pretext had left the party also early and today also couldn't be seen. Surely this was a matter of concern for Aahana as it was unlikely them and she thought of asking her mom. Thus, on seeing Snighda she called out to her mom and was sad to learn that even her mother had no clue about their whereabouts except that they had gone somewhere since the morning. This surely got Aahana worried and she prayed for her friends mentally scolding them for their childish behavior.
Everyone was having the time of their lives, the youngsters busy dancing when all of a sudden the music stopped and much to Aahana's relief two voices that she had been dying to hear since the morning filled the whole room.
The voices belonged to none other than Devika and Survika who had by now taken the mikes asking everyone to settle down and once all were settled they continued:

" Today is a very special day for our dear friend Aahana.
Aahana what should we say about her for to describe a girl like her is well you can say next to impossible but, try we will as this word impossible doesn't exists in our friend's dictionary.
She has always been the over achieving kid excelling in whatever she does. Coming from such affluent family still she is really modest and is like an open book though at times difficult to understand ie, when she chooses not to give way to her feelings.
Survika and I can go on for days singing praises about our dear friend but we do not want to bore you people, so we will just end this small message by saying 'Girl you rock,we love you and will miss you loads.'
However before we leave Aahana you are requested to come near the stage as there is a surprise for you."

Aahana needed no second time calling and as she made her way towards the stage a silhouette could be seen. She very slowly approached the silhouette and once near was about to place her hands on its shoulders when the person carefully swooped her in bridal style taking all precautions so as to not mess the mehendi.
Aahana's mouth formed a big 'O' on seeing her Dev. Now the whole picture was clear in her mind and she thanked her friends for this lovely surprise.
Now, it was lunch time and since Aahana could not eat herself hence Dev told Snighda that he would make sure she is fed well. They had lunch together after which Snighda told Aahana's friends to take her to the room and there they could sit and talk. Aahana thanked her mom for having read her mind as she was really tired more so with the heavy clothes and now having got the chance to change into comfortable attire made her happy.
Her mehendi was slowly turning from orange to dark red in colour which made her smile more happily.

The rest of the day passed chatting with her friends catching up on everything missed and having a great time.

SHORT NOTE: Mehendi ceremony is of great significance in Hindu custom for it represents the bond of matrimony and is therefore, considered a ‘shagun’ ; signifying the love and affection between the couple and their families.
