Do you ever think of how the mind's eye works? Or why people can "see" their lives flash before their eyes? I've never seen it, but I've felt it and the mood changed for the situations I was in. Sometimes it happens in dreams, which is a bit traumatic when you wake up to find that you aren't dead. But when I got hit last year I felt the time reel of memories go by like passengers on a trolly. It had a rippling effect and when I realized what was happening I didn't feel fear. I felt peace. Which shocked me so much that when I sat up and saw myself still positioned on the bike, seemingly unscathed, I started crying. My brain couldn't calculate the event. I think that time reels are there to distract you from what's going on. That way if you don't make it then at least you had a few memories to shuffle through before it ended. I don't know. I just woke up thinking about this and now I have yet another series of questions and theories.
