Cadence Melody
I slowly reached out for the resignation letter Andrew had left on my table two days ago.
He had left it there just like that.
Just as he had walked so easily right out of my life.
No goodbyes.
No apologizes.
He left me that day without ever turning back.
Just sent me a long letter explaining why he had done it.
"What was so hard for him to understand?" I thought.
"That music was made not by plucking just one string. It was made by strumming all those guitar strings at once."
"It was possible to make simple music by playing just one string."
"But I knew that for an ear-catching melody, you'd need more than just one string on a guitar."
I accepted his resignation letter by burning it with a lighter and throwing it into the bin.
I pressed the intercom and when my secretary, Mr. Solomon presented himself in front of me, I turned my chair to face him and said, "Get the candidates ready."
