What If I'd ask you to stay

What If I'd ask you to stay,
And I'd have you here with me;
To watch the stars at night at play.

Though distance separating the duo of us wouldn't bes miles away,
I'd be covetous for having you with me with glee.
What if I'd ask you to stay.

I promise I'll remember you as if it was yesterday,
Memorizing your touch from the cuddles we had by the sea,
To watch the stars at night at play.

Take me back to the last summer of our day.
Dangling my feet from the edge of a pier with yee.
What if I'd asked you to stay

But If I'd ask you stay, you'd never want to leave, to slip away:
For thy to take a sacred oath, bethink oneself of the last summer with thee.
To watch the stars at night at play.

I'd forfeit my feelings, though tender and smite, for you, and keep it at bay
To make you leave, the idea once preposterous, with gee.
What if I'd asked you to stay,
To watch the stars at night at play.
