Chapter 24

I drove around for a bit trying to figure out what I was going to tell Tyler. Or if we even needed this conversation. I knew we did, we hadn't talked in a month besides last night, and I was drunk.

I get over to his house around 2:30 and ring the doorbell.

"Hey." He smiles as I walk in.

"Hey." I say as the dogs jump up on me, "My babies." I laugh as I get onto the floor and hug and kiss them. They were just as excited to see me.

"Was the hardest part of breaking up not seeing the dogs everyday?" He jokes

"One of the hardest." I giggle and he rolls his eyes laughing. I smile as I get up and we go into the living room. I sit on the couch and Marshall jumps up and tries to sit on my lap. I pet his head and Tyler looks at me.

"So um, what did you want to talk about?" He asks

"Just to make everything was cool. I know we've been avoiding each other, but like we can't do that." I say and he nods

"No, yeah, I agree." He sighs

"I'm really sorry for how I treated you. I was a bitch. I shouldn't have played around with you. You were my first real relationship, and I wasn't ready for it." I say and he smiles weakly at me

"Thank you for saying that. Yeah. I shouldn't have expected so much from you. It was unrealistic to expect us to work when we weren't wanting the same things."

"So we can still be friends?" I raise an eyebrow

"Yeah. We'll be around each other for the holidays and everything."

"Cool." I smile and we hug.

"I've missed hanging out with you. You're one of the only girls who can beat me at NHL." He smiles at me and I laugh

"I'm not good at the 19 version. Jamie and I played and I sucked ass."

"Great. I'll beat you then." He laughs as he turns on the TV and hands me a controller.

He barely wins in a shootout and I roll my eyes as I hand it back to him.

"Congrats." I smile

"Thank you." He has a huge smile on his face and I laugh as Cassidy opens the door.

"I just need to get drunk, and today would be the best day ever." Cassidy laughs as she walks in, "Sus?" She raises an eyebrow, "What are you doing here?"

"We were just talking. Smoothing things over." Tyler says

"Cool. Carly's coming over around 5. We're going on a double date. Me and Susannah, and you and Carly." She smiles

"Yeah I don't know if that's a good idea." He says as he rubs his neck

"Why?" Cassidy asks as she sits on the couch and Cash jumps up to kiss her.

"She's mad at me." He explains

"Why?" I raise an eyebrow

"I hate you two." He laughs

"I'm getting wine. You want some Sus?" Cassidy asks and I nod, "You're going to be the DD, so none for you." She tells Tyler before she goes into the kitchen. She quickly comes back and hands me one. I take a drink and we smile at Tyler.

"She's just mad about Susannah. She's mad I didn't tell her about her, and I think she's clueing onto the fact we dated." He sighs

"Oh fuck. Tonight's going to be fun." Cassidy giggles and I laugh nodding as I look at the time. It was almost 5, and I took another drink
