Chapter 56

Susannah's POV

Dinner was chill, and Tyler drove us back to the dorm.

"Hey, can we go on a walk?" I ask Tyler as Cassidy gets out

"Yeah. I mean it's starting to rain, so let's just stay in the car." He laughs

"Alright. I'll be inside." Cassidy says, "You have an hour before I finish the bottle of wine."

"Fair." I laugh as I move to get into the front seat.

"So what's up?" Tyler asks me as he turns off the car.

"You know how I left a day early for home and saw Kyle?" I ask softly as I look down unable to look into his eyes

"Yeah. What about that?" He asks

"We talked about everything, and we're getting back together." I say slowly

"Alright." He sighs as he runs his fingers through his hair, "Can I ask you something?"

"Of course." I nod

"You broke up with him because of me right?" He asks

"Yeah." I sigh

"Why didn't we do anything like a date or something?" He laughs, "I don't know. You're just not as happy as you usually are when you're with him."

"We hung out a lot. I don't know Tyler. I think we're too complicated."

"That's the thing is that we're not. I love you, and you love me. That's literally all we need." He says, "I think I'm just frustrated. You know Kyle was lying and doing stuff back home when you two were in your break, and you freaked out over me hooking up with a girl." He explains, "If we're over for good, then you're going to have to accept both sides. If you can move on, so can I."

"Alright." I nod sighing

"Okay." He agrees

"I'm going to go back inside. I'll see you around." I laugh weakly as I go to open the door

"Wait. I have a few more questions." He says

"Tyler." I laugh as I turn back around to face him

"Come on." He smiles laughing, "Let's just talk."

"Fine." I nod

"So are you going to help raise Gerry?" He asks laughing, "Over the summer."

"No. I'm going to live with Kyle after the Fourth of July." I say, "So for a few days, but after I'm going wherever he is."

"Sus." He sighs, "I mean it's good that he'll have a girlfriend during the transition, but you know you're not going to see him much."

"I know." I nod, "He might go to Camp."

"Ugh." He laughs

"Stop." I laugh

"Whatever. I'm still going to love you all the same."

"I know." I nod as I lean over to kiss his cheek, "I'll see you sometime. Good luck on your road trip."

"Thank you." He smiles as I look into his eyes before sitting back down.

"Of course." I laugh as I get out and run up to the building. I go to my room and Cassidy raises an eyebrow as I walk into our room.

"I got back with Kyle. We were just talking." I say as I go to take off my makeup.

"You're so much better with Tyler." She groans and I sigh

"I know." I laugh, "Kyle makes me feel something." I shrug
