Chapter 41

Susannah's POV

I woke up the next morning curled up next to Kyle. I looked around and realized I was in my room at Jamie's house.

"Hey." I smile as I kiss his cheek and he laughs as he rolls over to hug me.

"Hey." He sighs, "Oh fuck. I need to go see my family." He groans as he sits up.

"I know. You shouldn't have fallen asleep." I giggle

"Oh fuck off. You weren't going to drive me. Tyler took Ashley back to the hotel, and I think everyone else left." He laughs as he looks at his phone, "Can you drive me to the hotel?"

"Yeah. Let me get dressed." I smile as I put on some clothes. I walk down the stairs as Kyle gets out of the shower.

"Hey." Jamie laughs as he's drinking a protein shake in the kitchen

"Hi." I smile as I grab a pair of keys

"So, um, I really don't want to have this talk." He starts and I sigh

"We won't again."

"Cool. Great. I'm going to morning skate. I'll see you at the game." I give him a high- five as he walks past me. I smile to myself as Kyle walks down the stairs.

"Hey." He smiles as we kiss before we leave. I drop him off at the hotel, and Ashley gets into the car.

"Can we hang out?" She asks

"Yeah of course." I laugh, "I just need to take a shower and stuff. I'm just going to Jamie's house. OH. I also have to let Tyler's dogs out. Is that cool if you come with?" I ask

"Yeah." She giggles nodding and I go back to Jamie's house.

"Give me like 20 minutes, and I'll be ready to go." I laugh, "If you want to watch a movie or something." I smile as I run upstairs. I take a quick shower and put on Jamie's jersey and leggings. I grab my makeup and hair dryer as I walk downstairs.

"Can I dry your hair? I miss mine." Ashley laughs softly

"Yeah of course." I laugh as I plug it into the wall and she dries my hair, "Are you excited for tonight?"

"Yeah. Tyler? All sweaty? Hell yes." She giggles

"Maybe if we time it right, he'll be getting home when we see the dogs."

"That'd be a dream."

"He smells really bad though."

"I'm fine. I've been in thousands of car rides with Kyle after practice."

"Yeah." I nod laughing as she finishes and I quickly do my makeup before taking everything back upstairs. I get into the car and we drive to Tyler's.

I unlock the door and squeal as I see Marshall, "You still have a key?" She asks a little confused

"Yeah. When he's out or busy with stuff, usually I come over and let the dogs out and hang out with them for a bit. Or I come with his sister, or she comes alone. It just varies." I laugh

"Yeah. They're nice." She laughs as Cash's tail wags happily as he loves meeting new people. I nod laughing as I kiss Marshall's head as I open up the door to the backyard and they run out, "Can I ask you more questions about Tyler?" She asks

"Um. Sure." I giggle as I sit on one of the chairs outside.

"What was he like as a kid?"

"He was annoying. All boys are. We grew up really close, and so yeah. He would always watch out for me though. I'm just really happy he's doing what he loves. The same with Jamie and Jordie. I've watched them develop and become amazing."
