Chapter 54

Susannah's POV

"What do you want to do for food?" Kyle asks as we cuddle in his bed.

"Um, anything?" I laugh as I look up at him

"You're fine eating my weird shit?" He asks

"Yeah. I've been around 3 draftees. I'm used to the food. I haven't had it in a while, but I'll eat with Jamie during pre-season and it's all very clean." I say

"Cool. Let's raid my boring ass fridge." He groans, "All I want is cake. Just like a big chocolate cake." He laughs

"You can do that once you're drafted." I smile

"Fine." He smiles as we put on our clothes again and go downstairs. He gets out two pre-made meals and hands me one, "I'm sorry it's so shitty." He laughs

"I'm fine with it." I laugh as we sit at the table and eat.

"So, what are you up to?"

"Well, the Stars season just ended, so now it's post- season. They're not making it far." I shrug

"Yeah." He nods

"School's out in May. I'll go home. You come late June. We'll see from there." I smile

"Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm going with the Islanders unless they get a higher pick. So, could you do a summer in New York?"

"For real?" I ask as I raise an eyebrow and he laughs

"Yes. I want you there. I know we've been in this little argument thing recently, but I want you there. You're the best." He smiles, "I know you have to leave in August for training, but just for July. I'll be at camps and shit, but I'd love for you to be there or at least come a few times."

"Alright. We can do that." I laugh smiling

"Which one?"

"I'll help you move in and settle down. I want to spend some more time at home. I already promised I'd help with the dogs for most of May and June." I say not really wanting to bring Tyler up

"Yeah. I understand." He nods, "Do you want to get back together?"

"Yes." I nod smiling as he kisses me.

"I love you." He smiles

"I love you too." I laugh as we make out for a bit.

"So, when do I need to take you back to the airport?" He asks as we finish eating

"I have three hours." I laugh as I look at my phone, "I have to go through customs and shit so I need a few hours just in case for that."

"Yeah. I get that. You want to just catch up and play NHL?" He asks

"Yes. I've gotten so good." I laugh as we put everything away and go up to his room.

"I love that you are as knowledgable as you are in hockey stuff, and can play all this shit. I hung out with one of my ex- girlfriends, and it was awful." He laughs softly and I nod smiling

"I know." I laugh as I'm a little jealous he was with his ex, but so was I. I literally had done nothing but hang out with Tyler since we broke up. So that's how he must feel, and maybe has always felt. I curl up next to him in the bed as he hands me a controller. I see a text from Jamie before ignoring it while we get to playing.

"Is everything okay?" Kyle asks me after I score a goal

"What?" I ask laughing

"Your phone has been buzzing for a minute straight." He laughs
