Chapter 51

Clarissa's POV

"So, your parents are going to like me?" I freak out as we sit in Jamie's car as we wait for Tyler, Susannah, and Cassidy to arrive

"Yes. Relax." He laughs as he kisses my cheek, "You'll be great. Plus you'll have Susannah during the game to calm you down and make things better."

"Yeah, but she's your sister so they'll only want to talk to her."

"They're not close, so you'll be fine." He sighs, "I'm close with our parents, but she's just close with me, Jordie, and Jenny. It's because she was an accident." He laughs a little and I hit his arm

"That is not funny." I say

"It's so true. You can ask. They admit it. There's almost an 11 year age gap between us. A 15 year between her and Jenny. She was an accident."

"Whatever. That's not funny." I say as he kisses me while we see Tyler's car pull up.

"Jesus. I do not want to deal with any of them right now." He groans as he unbuckles his seatbelt

"What is Cassidy doing?"

"Hooking up with Charlie McAvoy." He sighs as he gets out and goes around to open my door. I get out laughing as I see them. I could tell Susannah and Tyler had been arguing by the way they were standing.

We go inside and they snap at each other before we wait in silence for all of their families to arrive.

"Mom." Jamie smiles as he gets up and hugs his mom and dad, and who I'm assuming is his sister. Susannah does the same before they move onto the Seguin family and they switch, "This is my girlfriend Clarissa." He says to everyone and everyone hugs me and we talk for a few moments before sitting back down. Candace was talking quickly with Susannah, Cassidy, and Jenny as they sat at the end. I ended up next to Jamie talking with his parents.

"So, you go to SMU with the girls?" Heather asks

"Yes." I laugh smiling

"So how did you two meet?" Randy asks and Jamie looks at me sighing unsure of what to say.

"That's complicated." He sighs as he thinks of what to say

"She was on my tour group when Jamie showed me around last March. She was super sweet and so his type, and I hooked them up. They're so cute, right? I'm in love." Susannah steps in smiling

"That's so sweet." Heather smiles as she hugs Susannah, "You're so sweet to your brothers."

"I know." She smiles as we all start to eat. We finish and get up to leave.

"You want to go back to Jamie's? I want to get changed." Susannah asks me as we walk out

"Yeah. Is your family coming over too?" I ask

"Oh yeah." She smiles nodding as we all get into Jamie's car. Susannah talks with Jenny as Jamie and I talk with his parents. We get to the house and go inside.

"You want to do shots?" I hear Jenny ask Susannah who quickly agrees

"Hey, Clarissa?" Susannah asks as she looks back at me, "Want to do shots before the game? Pregame a little." She giggles

"Um no. I'm not drinking with your parents around." I laugh as Jenny pours three shots

"It's legal in Canada. They don't care I drink here because I'm allowed to there. Just do one." Susannah pouts

"Fine." I nod laughing as we all take them

"Oh! I want in." Heather giggles, "Next round."

"Alright mom. What do you want?" Jenny asks
