Chapter 22

Susannah's POV

Nothing really happened in the month after our parents left. Kyle and I grew closer, and we were still playing around with the idea of dating.

We had off for Thanksgiving, and Jamie said I could just stay at his house as we had the few days off. Cassidy and I decided it was weird that I was driving the Jeep, so she dropped me off at Jamie's house before she took it to Tyler's. Cassidy and I have slowly been fixing our friendship as it has been super rocky for a while.

"So, shopping day tomorrow? Maybe Tyler will let me drive his Tesla." She giggles as I grab my bags from the trunk.

"Yes, and hopefully. I've driven the Tesla a few times, so he can trust me. Love you." I smile

"Love you too." She giggles before she pulls out. Jamie and Tyler lived in the same gated community, about a mile away from each other. I unlock the door and go up to my room as Jamie was taking Clarissa to the airport. After settling in, I went back downstairs and watched some TV until he got home.

"Hey." Jamie smiles as he walks in

"Hey." I sigh as I turn off the TV, "How was Clarissa?" I ask

"She's great."

"I'm happy for you." I smile

"Thank you. You want me to tell you the plans?" He asks as he sits down next to me.

"Let's get into it." I laugh as I pull out my phone to put everything in it. Jamie liked to keep busy, so he told me which things were mandatory and which were optional.

"So Thursday, it's Dickinson's first Thanksgiving in the US, so you, me, and his friend are going out. You're not drinking. Understand?"

"Yes." I nod smiling

"Alright cool. I have a game tonight, so I bought you and Cassidy your favorite drinks. I really don't care what you two do, just don't destroy my house." He sighs and I laugh before I hug him.

"I love you."

"Love you too." He smiles before I call Cassidy.

"Hey what's up?" I ask as I can hear her moving

"Nothing. I'm just with Carly." She smiles and I hear a gorgeous laugh in the background

"Who's that?" I ask

"Oh. Tyler's girlfriend."

"Cool. Um, Jamie bought us some drinks, do you want to come over and watch the game tonight?" I ask

"Can I bring Carly? Tyler wants us to bond." She laughs and I look at Jamie, who is oblivious to everything going on.

"Why isn't she going to the game?" I ask

"She doesn't understand hockey. I thought we could explain it to her." She says

"Does she know that Tyler and I used to date?" I ask

"No." She sighs, "But you're my best friend, so can we both please come over? I promise you'll love her."

"Fine. How old is she?"

"24."

"Stop and get some more alcohol." I giggle and she nods before she hangs up

"What was that about?" Jamie asks as he starts to play NHL 19

"Tyler's girlfriend is coming over tonight." I say as I drop my phone on the couch

"Oh yeah. Be nice."
